St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Blues (2-0-0) take on the Vegas Golden Knights (1-0-0) Friday. Puck drop from T-Mobile Arena is set for 10 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NHL odds around the Blues vs. Golden Knights odds and make our expert NHL picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting; VGK won 2-1 last year.

The Blues secured their 2nd straight comeback victory with a 5-4 OT winner against the San Jose Sharks Thursday night. We cashed all 3 bets in the process. They entered the 3rd period down 4-1 and scored 4 unanswered goals to walk away with 2 points. They opened the game quickly with 22 shots in the 1st, which is more than they had in a 1st period in over a decade. Some bad luck had them down 2-1, though. But they found a way. This is a very different team than the one that had just 4 wins after being down multiple goals last season.

Vegas may not be in Carolina, but it was a natural disaster against the Colorado Avalanche with an 8-4 W Wednesday. C Ivan Barbashev, RW Mark Stone and LW Victor Olofsson each scored 2 goals in the rout. Vegas lost a ton of parts in the offseason, but clearly what remains is clicking on another level.

Blues at Golden Knights projected goalies

Jordan Binnington (1-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .938 SV%) vs. Adin Hill (1-0-0, 4.00 GAA, .875 SV%).

Binner stopped 30 of 32 shots in the season opener. He saved 1.7 goals above expected and really kept the team in it long enough for it to find its stride. He was under pressure early and often and stood on his head at points in the game. He was 1-1-1 against VGK last year with a 2.70 GAA and .931 SV%.

Hill stopped 28 of 32 against the Avs in his first start of the year. He wasn’t healthy to face the Blues last season but stopped 25 of 28 in a 3-2 loss against them in the ’22-23 season.

Blues at Golden Knights picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 3, Blues 2

Moneyline

The Blues pulled a rabbit out of their hat in the first 2 games of their road trip, and they’re really playing with house money here. If they can manage a point on the back end of a back-to-back, that would be big. Binnington keeps them in it, but VGK is too strong. That said, we’re not spending -225 for the Knights.

Instead, I’m taking JACK EICHEL UNDER 4.5 SHOTS (-165). He had 4 assists and 3 SOG in the first game of the season. I really look for C Robert Thomas to play Eichel tightly.

Puck line/Against the spread

These teams have played 1-goal games 4 times in the last 6 meetings. Binnington does not get enough credit for how good of a goaltender he is, and he gets up for these matchups.

Take BLUES +1.5 (-145) at a very reasonable price.

Over/Under

The Under cashed twice in the 3 meetings between these squads last year. The Over is 1-1 for St. Louis thus far and 1-0 for Vegas.

I look for a tight one Friday night, and I’m taking the UNDER 6 (-105).

St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The St. Louis Blues (2-0-0) face the Vegas Golden Knights (1-1-0) Wednesday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Puck drop is scheduled for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Blues vs. Golden Knights odds and lines, and make our expert NHL picks, predictions and bets.

The Blues have fired out of the gate with a pair of high-scoring wins. St. Louis opened its season in Colorado, winning 5-3 Saturday to cash as moderate underdogs, and it won 7-4 at Arizona Monday as heavy favorites.

The Golden Knights opened at this venue against expansion Seattle, settling for a narrow 4-3 win last Tuesday. They hit the road for Los Angeles, and the Kings dusted the Golden Knights 6-2 Thursday. Vegas has enjoyed a couple of days of rest, looking to regroup.

Vegas also has some big skates to fill, as LW Max Pacioretty will be out until around Thanksgiving due to a foot ailment, while captain RW Mark Stone is a question mark due to a lower-body ailment.

Blues at Golden Knights projected goalies

Jordan Binnington (2-0-0, 3.50 GAA, .879 SV%) vs. Robin Lehner (1-1-0, 4.21 GAA, .887 SV%)

Binnington has won each of his two starts, but he has coughed up seven goals in the two outings. He turned aside 22 of the 26 shots he faced last time out in Arizona, but the offense powered the team to a win to mask his shaky outing.

Lehner hasn’t been particularly sharp in his two starts since taking over the top job following the trade of Marc-Andre Fleury to Chicago. He was knocked around for four goals on 31 shots in L.A. last time out.

Blues at Golden Knights odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Blues 3

Money line

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-130) are back on home ice, and that should snap them back on track after a shaky outing against the Kings. The Blues (+105) have won each of their two games, but the defense and goaltending hasn’t been up to snuff.

St. Louis hasn’t had a lot of luck against Vegas, going 1-6 in the past seven meetings and 1-5 in the past six trips to Sin City. The favorite has also cashed in 14 of the past 17 meetings overall, making VGK look all that much better.

Against the spread

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+175) are worth a small-unit play at plus-money. They were 11-7 against the Blues last season and are looking to make a statement at home after a slow start.

Over/Under

OVER 5.5 (-120) is the best play in this one. It’s not all about the trends, although that should make you feel confident. The Over is 9-2-1 in the past 12 meetings and 5-1 in the past six in Vegas. But the Over is also 2-0 for both teams, with the Blues averaging 6.0 goals per game so far, and the Knights averaging 3.0 goals per game while yielding 4.5 goals per outing.

St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The St. Louis Blues (24-19-9) play the second of a two-game set on the road against the Vegas Golden Knights (38-13-2) Saturday. Puck drop is scheduled for a 10 p.m. ET at T-Mobile Arena. Below, we analyze the Blues-Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

The Blues were on the short end of a 4-3 overtime loss against the Golden Knights, but St. Louis was still celebrating. St. Louis picked up its 57th point to clinch a playoff spot and eliminate the Arizona Coyotes. It was the fourth time in five games St. Louis went to overtime and/or a shootout.

The Golden Knights have also worked extra lately, winning three of the past four games, each by overtime. Two of those OT wins were by Marc-Andre Fleury.

Blues at Golden Knights: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 9:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Blues +155 (bet $100 to win $155) | Golden Knights -185 (bet $185 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Blues +1.5 (-165) | Golden Knights -1.5 (+140)
  • Over/Under: 5.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

Blues at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies

Ville Husso (8-5-1, 3.46 GAA, .885 SV%) vs. Marc-Andre Fleury (24-10-0, 2.07 GAA, .926 SV%, 5 SO)

Husso has won back-to-back starts, both against the Minnesota Wild. He has coughed up six goals on 60 shots. The Blues backup goaltender has won three of the previous five, and he is 6-3-1 across the past 10 starts dating back to mid-February.

Fleury has rattled off seven consecutive victories since his last loss April 7, which happened to be against the Blues in St. Louis. He has allowed two or fewer goals in each of the seven wins, including a shutout on April 14 against the Arizona Coyotes.

Blues at Golden Knights: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 4, Blues 3

Money line (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-185) will cost you nearly two times your potential return, and it’s right on the borderline of my personal limit for a money line wager. But Vegas has won three of the past four, and 13 of the previous 15 outings. Keep banging VGK until they cool off.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The BLUES +1.5 (-165) are actually the play here, mainly because both of these teams have played plenty of overtime and shootout games lately, including a battle in overtime on Friday.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 5.5 (-120) is the lean, going 9-1-1 in the previous 11 meetings between these two teams. That includes a 5-0 Over mark in the past five meeting in Vegas. The Over is also 4-0 in the past four on the road for St. Louis and 4-0 in the past four against winning teams, too.

St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Monday’s St. Louis Blues at Vegas Golden Knights NHL odds and lines, with hockey picks, tips and predictions.

The St. Louis Blues (16-10-5) take on the Vegas Golden Knights (21-7-1) Monday with a 10 p.m. ET puck drop at T-Mobile Center. Below, we analyze the Blues-Golden Knights odds and lines, with NHL picks and predictions.

Blues at Golden Knights: Odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 7:30 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Blues +135 (bet $100 to win $135) | Golden Knights -160 (bet $160 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Blues +1.5 (-200) | Golden Knights -1.5 (+170)
  • Over/Under: 6 (O: -105 | U: -115)

Blues at Golden Knights: Projected starting goalies

Jordan Binnington (10-7-4, 2.72 GAA, .907 SV%) vs. Robin Lehner (4-1-1, 2.80 GAA, .894 SV%)

Binnington has been up and down lately, going 3-1-2 across his past six outings, but with a 3.38 GAA and .892 SV%. The last time he faced the Golden Knights he was on the short end of a 5-4 overtime loss March 12, stopping 35 of the 40 shots he faced. He is 1-0-1 in two starts vs. VGK this season, but he has an ugly 4.24 GAA and .895 SV%.

Lehner made his return to the crease after a six-week absence, stopping 23 of the 25 shots he faced in Los Angeles Friday night in a 4-2 win. Marc-Andre Fleury was on the short end of a 3-1 loss in L.A. Sunday in the back-to-back, so Lehner gets a chance to work his way back into a timeshare.

Blues at Golden Knights: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Golden Knights 5, Blues 3

Money line (ML)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS (-160) are moderate favorites on home ice, while the Blues (+135) limp in with just two victories across the past seven outings. They’re also 0-5 in the past five in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 situation, or four games in six days. Toss in the fact St. Louis is just 1-5 in the previous six meetings, and Vegas looks mighty tasty.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread (ATS)

The GOLDEN KNIGHTS -1.5 (+170) are worth a small-unit play on home ice. The favorite has connected in seven of the past eight meetings in this series, and VGK has hit the puck line in four of their past eight wins. Confidence isn’t terribly high, but it’s a decent roll of the dice.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 6 (-105) is the way to go in this battle in Vegas. The Over is 4-0-1 in the past five for the Blues against winning teams and 4-0-1 in their past five as a ‘dog. The Over is 4-1-1 in the past six for the Golden Knights, while hitting the Over in nine of the past 12 at home. The Over is also 6-0-1 in the past seven in this series and 4-1 in the past five on The Strip.
