Previewing Thursday’s Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The New York Yankees (28-21) go for a three-game sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays (26-22) as the AL East rivals play the finale of their Yankee Stadium midweek series Thursday at 7:05 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Blue Jays-Yankees MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Wednesday: The Yankees hit seven homers, including three by C Kyle Higashioka and two by 2B DJ LeMahieu, in a 13-2 victory. The night before, New York roughed up Toronto even worse to the tune of a 20-6 rout. The Yankees now have won seven in a row after starting September, 2-7. The Blue Jays are on a two-game skid.

Season series: Yankees lead 3-2.

Prediction

Yankees 10, Blue Jays 3

Money line (ML)

The Yankees (-209) are more than 2-to-1 favorites for the series finale. That’s just too much chalk and I don’t like that kind of risk. PASS.

New to sports betting? Every winning $2.09 bet on the Yankees ML will profit $1. Every $1 bet on the Blue Jays (+185) profits $1.85 if they win.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The YANKEES (-1.5, -110) are the STRONGEST PLAY.  Only one of the five regular-season meetings between the two was decided by 1 run. Two were won by 5 runs apiece, while the most recent two were double-digit blowouts.

The Yankees are 28-21 vs. the RL this season, including 17-10 at home. The Blue Jays (+1.5, -110) are 24-24 vs. the RL overall and 15-12 on the road.

We cashed on the Yankees RL Wednesday. Let’s do it again Thursday (Strongest plays should be 1½ times your usual wager.)

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 9.5 (-110) is worthy of a small play – which should be half your usual wager. During their current seven-game win streak, the Yankees are batting .301 and averaging 8.7 runs per game.

Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Wednesday’s Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Toronto Blue Jays (26-21) and New York Yankees (27-21) play the middle game of a three-game set at Yankee Stadium Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Blue Jays-Yankees MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Tuesday: The Yankees crushed the Jays 20-6 behind 5 RBIs apiece from 2B DJ LeMahieu (4-for-6) and 1B Luke Voit (2 HRs). New York, which took over second place in the AL East with 12 games to go, led 7-1 after two innings, 12-1 after three and 16-3 after four.

Season series: Tied 2-2.

Blue Jays at Yankees: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Tanner Roark vs. RHP Gerrit Cole

Roark is 2-1 with a 5.60 ERA (35 1/3 IP, 22 ER) in 8 starts this season.

  • Last start: No-decision, 4 IP, 2 ER, 2 H, 3 BB, 3 K, 2 HR vs. Yankees Sept. 9 – Blue Jays lost 7-2
  • Career vs. Yankees: 1-1, 3.86 ERA (16 1/3 IP, 7 ER) in 3 starts, including just 1 game in 2020 – last start mentioned above

Cole is 5-3 with a 3.20 ERA (59 IP, 21 ER) with 79 K in 10 starts.

  • Last start: Win, 7 IP (CG), 0 ER, 2 H, 1 BB, 9 K vs. Baltimore Orioles Friday – Yankees won 6-0 in Game 1 of DH
  • 2020 at Yankee Stadium: 3-1, 2.27 ERA (31 2/3 IP, 8 ER) in 5 starts
  • Career vs. Blue Jays: 1-0, 4.91 ERA (11 IP, 6 ER) in 2 starts; last outing a win in 2019 while pitching for the Houston Astros

Prediction

Yankees 6, Blue Jays 1

Money line (ML)

The Yankees (-278) are big favorites with Cole coming off a seven-inning, two-hit, shutout. Plus, DH/OF Giancarlo Stanton and 3B Gio Urshela are back, activated off the injured list before Tuesday’s rout. But I can’t suggest to bet that kind of chalk. It’s just not wise as far as risk management goes.

To profit $1 on a Yankees ML play, one must bet $2.78 (or $278 to win $100), while a winning $1 Blue Jays (+240) ML bet profits $2.40. PASS.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

The YANKEES (-1.5, -125) are the STRONGEST PLAY. All five of Cole’s victories have been by 3 or more runs. He has a 2.50 ERA in his last three starts (18 IP, 5 ER), which spells doom for the Jays (+1.5, +105).

Meanwhile, Toronto’s Roark has yielded 10 earned runs in his last three starts (13 1/3 IP) for a 6.75 ERA. (Strongest plays should be 1½ times your usual wager.)

Over/Under (O/U)

The O/U is 8.5 (-110 on both sides). Cole will shut down Toronto’s offense, but I’m leery of New York’s bats hitting the Over on their own. I’ll PASS.

I miserably failed you Tuesday with my suggestions of Toronto (+140) and a “strongest play” of the Under (closed at 9) as New York squashed both in the 20-6 rout. Thus, I’m pinpointing just one Wednesday play – let’s bounce back with the YANKEES (-1.5, -125) run line.

Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees odds, picks and best bets

Previewing Tuesday’s Toronto Blue Jays at New York Yankees sports betting odds and lines, with MLB betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Toronto Blue Jays (26-20) visit the New York Yankees (26-21) for a three-game series at Yankee Stadium, starting Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the Blue Jays-Yankees MLB betting odds and lines, with picks and best bets.

Monday: Both teams had the day off. The Blue Jays have won back-to-back games, while the Yankees own a five-game win streak.

Season series: Blue Jays lead 2-1 after winning the first 2 of 3 at home Sept 1-3.

Blue Jays at Yankees: Projected starting pitchers

RHP Taijuan Walker vs. RHP Deivi Garcia

Walker, who started the season with the Seattle Mariners, is 3-2 with a 2.95 ERA (42 2/3 IP, 14 ER) in 8 starts this season.

  • Since joining Blue Jays: 1-0, 1.15 (15 2/3 IP, 2 ER) in 3 starts
  • Last start: No-decision, 4 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 5 BB, 3 K vs. Yankees Sept. 8 – Blue Jays won 2-1
  • Career vs. Yankees: 0-2, 3.06 ERA (17 2/3 IP, 6 ER) in 3 starts, including just 1 start in 2020 (Sept. 8)

Garcia, who made his MLB debut Aug. 30, is 1-1 with a 3.06 ERA (17 2/3 IP, 6 ER) in 3 starts.

Prediction

Blue Jays 5, Yankees 3

Money line (ML)

The BLUE JAYS (+140) are the play, despite losing to Garcia last week. There’s decent value in +140 for a line that should be closer. I’ll take my chances with the up-and-coming Jays, against a Yankees squad (-154) still missing Judge and Stanton.

New to sports betting? Every winning $1 bet on the Blue Jays ML will profit $1.40, whereas it will take $1.54 to win $1 on the Yankees ML.

Run line/Against the spread (ATS)

PASS. Both teams are above .500 vs. the RL this season. The Yankees (-1.5, +125) are 26-21; the Blue Jays (+1.5, -154) are 24-22.

Of the three games the two played last week, only one was a one-run final. Toronto took the first two, 12-7 and 2-1, respectively, while New York won the finale 7-2.

Over/Under (O/U)

The UNDER 9.5 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY. The pitching matchup, along with both clubs missing some big bats, points to an Under. New York is 20-23-4 O/U on the season and 11-12-2 at home. Toronto is 20-23-3 O/U and 9-14-2 on the road.  (Strongest plays should be 1½ times your usual wager.)
