Texans finish 2020 NFL Draft; trade last pick to the Saints

The Houston Texans finished their 2020 NFL Draft by trading their seventh-round selection to the New Orleans Saints.

Trader Bill is done for the weekend.

The Houston Texans traded their final pick of the 2020 NFL Draft, 241st overall in Round 7, to the New Orleans Saints for their 2021 sixth-round selection.

The Saints summarily used that pick to draft Mississippi State quarterback Tommy Stevens.

Houston’s day three of the draft is over with the club addressing defensive needs and passing game needs.

With a total of five selections out of seven that they brought into the draft, the Texans stuck to coach and general manager Bill O’Brien’s philosophy that, because of the COVID-19 pandemic’s effect on the NFL’s offseason programs, it would be harder to get rookies up to speed. Therefore, it’s a veteran’s type of offseason, especially as it pertains to roster construction.
