Where did Rutgers land in On3.com Big Ten Preseason Power Rankings?

Where did Rutgers fall in On3’s preseason power ranking of Big Ten football?

If there is one thing us sports fans love to do, it is rank things. We here at Rutgers Wire have ranked everything from Rutgers football recruiting classes of the past ten years, to Big Ten mascots.

It may still be mid-summer, but it is never too early to talk college football – and never a bad time to talk rankings. On3.com is ranking things as well. Their experts are doing a series ranking schools in each of the Power Five conferences. They recently released their power ranking of the Big Ten football programs.

Rutgers did not fare well at all. They came in dead last in the ranking, despite finishing the regular season at 5-7, finishing tied for No. 10 in the conference, and being named a replacement for a bowl game. There is a slight surprise at the top of the list as well.

On3 is clear that these rankings do not take into account 2022 schedules, and is their view of the current talent and potential of each team at this point in time. Let’s take a look at the entire list, starting with the Scarlet Knights.

Things are getting worse and worse for Michigan State basketball, with the Spartans struggling down the stretch.

Michigan State dropped both games this past week, and have lost four of their last five. This recent tough stretch has resulted in the Spartans dropping again in our weekly power rankings to a new low for the season.

Let’s see where Michigan State lands in our updated Big Ten power rankings:

With only a month to go in the regular season, it is becoming more clear who belongs at the top of the Big Ten.

It was another up and down week for the Spartans, as Michigan State went 1-1 this past week — which included a blowout loss to Rutgers. That loss was eye-opening and has made it clear the separation at the top of Big Ten from the good teams to the great teams.

Let’s see where Michigan State lands in our updated Big Ten power rankings:

Another week and another team holding the No. 1 spot in our power rankings.

Our latest BadgersWire Big Ten basketball power rankings

After another packed week of Big Ten hoops, there is a new number one team in the latest BadgersWire power rankings.

After Wisconsin climbed all the way from the middle of the pack towards the top spot, the Badgers were beaten at home by Michigan State this past Friday.

A number of Big Ten results were surprising this past week, as Illinois lost by double-digits at Maryland, Purdue fell at Indiana, and Michigan stormed past Indiana on Sunday.

The Big Ten currently has no NCAA Tournament No. 1 seeds projected by either ESPN or CBS, but seven conference teams are slotted to be in the tournament by both outlets.

It’s crazy how much things can change from one week to the next when it comes to Big Ten basketball.

So where do the Spartans land in our updated batch of power rankings? Let’s take a look at where we have Michigan State and the rest of the Big Ten teams in our updated weekly power rankings:

It wasn’t a great week of basketball for Michigan State.

The Spartans’ nine-game winning streak was snapped this weekend in a disappointing home loss to Northwestern. Earlier in the week, Michigan State also needed late-game heroics to survive Minnesota’s upset bid. So it’s safe to say it wasn’t a great week for Michigan State.

With things not going as many Spartans’ fans thought they would, how far will Michigan State drop in our weekly power rankings? Let’s take a look at where we have the Spartans and the rest of the Big Ten teams in our updated weekly power rankings:
