Hero World Challenge 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

It’s time for a fun week in The Bahamas.

Golf’s silly season is here, and the first tournament up to bat is Tiger Woods’ Hero World Challenge in Albany. Although the 15-time major champion isn’t in the field, we’ll still be treated with some of the best players in the world including Scottie Scheffler, Justin Thomas, Ludvig Aberg, Wyndham Clark and Patrick Cantlay, among others.

Tony Finau, amid countless LIV Golf rumors circulating around social media, withdrew from the field on Monday.

Because this isn’t an official PGA Tour event, the winner will not earn any FedEx Cup points. One thing is official, however — the money. Sunday’s champion will go home with $1 million of the $5 million purse.

Without further ado, let’s jump into our betting preview and see who we’ll be targeting in The Bahamas.

Picks to win the Hero World Challenge

Justin Thomas

Odds: 10/1

Analysis: Woods’ best buddy has finished T-5 or better in four straight appearances at the Hero, including a third-place finish last December. In his last Tour start, the Louisville product tied for second at the Zozo Championship in Japan.

Tom Kim

2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship

Odds: 20/1

Analysis: In a 20-man field, getting +2000 odds for Tom Kim is too good to pass up. Despite missing the cut in his latest Tour start — Shriners Children’s Open — Kim finished second a week later at the DP World Tour’s Genesis Championship. He’s played in the Hero once, finishing T-10 in 2022.

Robert MacIntyre

Odds: 25/1

Analysis: Unlike many of the players in this field, MacIntyre has been playing golf this fall. In his last two DP World Tour starts, the Scot finished T-19 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and T-7 at the DP World Tour Championship. This will be MacIntyre’s first appearance at the Hero.

The RSM Classic 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

Let’s get a winner to end the year.

The final official PGA Tour event of 2024 has arrived, as Sea Island Golf Club’s Seaside Course is once again set to host The RSM Classic. Defending champion Ludvig Aberg makes his return to golf’s biggest stage this week after a two-month recovery from knee surgery. The Swede hasn’t played since a 16th-place finish at the Tour Championship.

Some of the other players teeing it up in St. Simons Island, Georgia, this week include Brian Harman, Harris English, Lucas Glover, J.T. Poston and Denny McCarthy.

The champion on Sunday afternoon will receive $1.368 million of the $7.6 million purse and 500 FedEx Cup points.

This is the final week for players to solidify their spot in the FedEx Cup top 125 and earn cards for next season. There are several notable players on the bubble in the RSM field, including Joel Dahmen and Daniel Berger.

Picks to win The RSM Classic

Ben Griffin

2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship
Ben Griffin walks down the fairway on the 18th hole on the first day of the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Odds: 30/1

Analysis: We had Griffin on the card last week for the Bermuda Championship and he finished solo eighth. So, we’re riding with him again, hoping he can earn his first Tour victory at the RSM.

He has four top-25 finishes in his last five starts and has played well at Sea Island in the past: T-8 in 2023 and T-29 in 2022.

J.J. Spaun

Odds: 35/1

Analysis: Spaun has loved this tournament over the last few years: T-13 in 2023, T-15 in 2022 and T-16 in 2021. Before a T-30 finish at the World Wide Technology Championship a few weeks ago, Spaun tied for sixth at the Zozo Championship.

Greyson Sigg

Greyson Sigg of the United States prepares to play his shot from the fourth tee during the first round of the Butterfield Bermuda Championship 2024 at Port Royal Golf Course on November 14, 2024 in Southampton, Bermuda. (Photo by Carmen Mandato/Getty Images)

Odds: 60/1

Analysis: Since missing the cut at the Sanderson Farms, Sigg has played some high-level golf. He tied for 11th at the Black Desert, for 23rd at the Shriners and for ninth last week in Bermuda. The Augusta, Georgia, native tied for eighth at the RSM last year and finished in a share of 15th in 2022.

Butterfield Bermuda Championship 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

It’s time to pick a winner.

The Butterfield Bermuda Championship, the penultimate event for the PGA Tour in 2024, kicks off Thursday at Port Royal Golf Course. Another rank-and-file field has gathered in Southhampton, Bermuda, highlighted by Mackenzie Hughes, Lucas Glover, Seamus Power, Maverick McNealy and Daniel Berger.

Defending champion Camilo Villegas has made just five cuts across 24 starts so far this year, but maybe a trip back to the course where he captured his fifth Tour win will break his slump.

This week’s winner will go home with $1.242 million of the $6.9 million purse and 500 FedEx Cup points.

Now, let’s jump into our betting preview and discuss a few players we’re picking to contend in Bermuda.

Things to keep in mind

  • Wind can play a major factor at this track, so pay attention to a potential wave advantage.
  • This is not a course players can dominate with their drivers. This is a plot-your-way-around type track. Think Harbour Town (RBC Heritage).
  • Scores can get low out here — Villegas won at 24 under. Let’s prioritize Strokes Gained: Approach and SG: Putting (Bermuda).

Picks to win the 2024 Butterfield Bermuda Championship

Ben Griffin

2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship
Ben Griffin walks down the fairway on the 18th hole on the first day of the FedEx St. Jude Championship at TPC Southwind in Memphis, Tenn., on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Best odds: 20/1 (+2000), DraftKings and FanDuel

Analysis: Griffin has been flirting with his first Tour win for more than a year now, and this seems like a great spot for him to get it. He’s coming off back-to-back top-25 finishes at the Zozo Championship and World Wide Technology Championship, and he has a T-3 finish at this event in 2022.

Justin Lower

2024 World Wide Technology Championship

Best odds: 25/1 (+2500), several books

Analysis: Lower played some great golf last week but couldn’t quite catch Austin Eckroat. He finished in a tie for second. Now, he heads to a course he loves. In three starts at Port Royal, Lower has three top-20 finishes, including a tie for eighth at the end of 2022.

Patrick Rodgers

Patrick Rodgers of the United States plays his shot from the 16th tee during the second round of the Sanderson Farms Championship 2024 at the Country Club of Jackson on October 04, 2024 in Jackson, Mississippi. (Photo by Raj Mehta/Getty Images)

Best odds: 30/1 (+3000), FanDuel and Caesars

Analysis: Rodgers has made 279 starts on the PGA Tour and hasn’t put a tally in the win column. Is this his week? Over the last month, Rodgers has tied for 11th at the Black Desert Championship and for 24th at the World Wide Technology Championship. In 2021, Rodgers finished solo fourth at Port Royal. A year later, he tied for third.

Vince Whaley

Best odds: 55/1 (+5500), FanDuel and BetMGM

Analysis: Whaley has two T-16 finishes during the Tour’s fall season — Sanderson Farms Championship, Shriners Children’s Open — and has played well at Port Royal in the past. In 2023, he tied for eighth, and in 2021, he finished T-7.

Odd flip as Jets now favored over Cardinals in Week 10

After the Cardinals opened Week 10 as home favorites, the odds and lines have shifted.

The Arizona Cardinals will face the New York Jets Sunday afternoon in Week 10 at State Farm Stadium. Kickoff is at 4:25 p.m. ET (2:25 p.m. Arizona time) and the game will air on CBS.

After initially beginning the week as home favorites, the point spread and betting odds have shifted so that the Cardinals are now underdogs.

So let’s have a look at the betting odds and lines for the Jets vs. Cardinals Week 10 game, according to BetMGM Sportsbook.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Jets at Cardinals Week 10 betting odds and lines

Odds updated as of Friday at 11:09 a.m. ET.

Moneyline

  • Jets -125 (bet $125 to win $100)
  • Cardinals +105 (bet $100 to win $105)

These odds imply the Jets are about 7% more likely to win than the Cardinals.

This is a change. When the week opened, the Cardinals were -120 favorites with the Jets at +100. The line moved to both being -110 and now the Jets are favored.

According to BetMGM, 55% of bets are on the Cardinals to win the ML.

Spread

  • Jets -1.5 (-110)
  • Cardinals +1.5 (-110)

This is a full three-point shift in the odds. The Cardinals were 1.5-point favorites to start the week. Up until Thursday afternoon, they were favored by one point and then they moved again in favor of the Jets. 56% of the bets are on the Cardinals to cover.

The Jets are 3-6 ATS and the Cardinals are 6-3 ATS on the season.

Total

  • Over 46.5 (-110)
  • Under 46.5 (-110)

Even the total has increased. It began the week at 45.

Both teams are 4-4-1 O/U this season.

World Wide Technology Championship 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

Let’s get a winner south of the border.

The PGA Tour is back in action this week for the World Wide Technology Championship south of the border. The Tiger Woods-designed El Cardonal at Diamante Cabo San Lucas in Los Cabos, Mexico, once again plays host after making its Tour debut in 2023.

Cameron Young — still looking for his first win — headlines the field and will be joined by defending champion Erik van Rooyen, Lucas Glover, Harris English, Keith Mitchell, Maverick McNealy and Beau Hossler, among others. Zozo Championship winner Nico Echavarria — finished T-31 at El Cardonal last year — will also tee it up Thursday.

This week’s winner will go home with $1.296 million of the $7.2 million purse, as well as 500 FedEx Cup points.

More: Enjoy golf on Cabo time at Cove Club, Diamante in Cabo San Lucas

Now, let’s jump into our betting preview for the World Wide Technology Championship.

Things to keep in mind

  • Fairways and greens are extremely easy to hit at this golf course. This tournament will come down to proximity to the hole and who has the hot flat-stick.
  • van Rooyen won at 27 under last year, and the weather for the week looks good. Expect a similar winning score and target players who make a lot of birdies.
  • Three stats we’ll prioritize: Birdie percentage, proximity from the fairway and Strokes Gained: Putting.

World Wide Technology Championship picks to win

Cameron Young (20/1)

2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic
Cameron Young of the United States plays a shot from the 14th tee during a practice round prior to the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club on June 26, 2024, in Detroit, Michigan. (Photo by Raj Mehta/Getty Images)

Analysis: Young has burned me more times than I’d like to remember, but this spot sets up so well for him. Not many players on Tour can make birdies in bunches as well as Young does, just look at the 59 he posted earlier this season at the Travelers. Plus, he’s the one big name in this rank-and-file field. Hopefully, he can take advantage of that and grab his first Tour win.

Update: Young has withdrawn from the event.

Keith Mitchell (30/1)

Keith Mitchell of the United States reacts to his putt on the 17th green during the third round of the Sanderson Farms Championship 2024 at the Country Club of Jackson on October 5, 2024, in Jackson, Mississippi. (Photo by Justin Casterline/Getty Images)

Analysis: This pick makes me a little nervous thanks to Mitchell’s case of the Sunday Scaries, but I’m rolling with him anyway. This season, Mitchell ranks T-4 in proximity from the fairway and second in birdie average, only behind world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler. And yes, he’s missed two cuts in a row. However, he played some great golf at the Sanderson Farms Championship in early October, where he finished T-3 after being the 54-hole leader.

Michael Kim (45/1)

2024 Shriners Children's Open
Michael Kim acknowledges the crowd on the 18th hole during the final round of the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin. (David Becker/Getty Images)

Analysis: Kim is known by most fans for his Twitter/X presence, but I like this spot for the 31-year-old. He’s fresh off a T-5 finish at the Shriners Children’s Open, and he tied for 23rd at El Cardonal in 2023. This season, Kim ranks 12th in proximity from the fairway and sixth in birdie average. All signs point to the Cal product having a nice week in Mexico.

Patton Kizzire (60/1)

Patton Kizzire of the United States lines up his putt on the third hole during the third round of the Procore Championship 2024 at Silverado Resort on Sept. 14, 2024, in Napa, California. (Photo by Eakin Howard/Getty Images)

Analysis: Kizzire is coming off a missed cut at the Shriners Children’s Open in Las Vegas, but has played some great golf during the FedEx Cup Fall, including a win at the Procore Championship and a T-11 finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Like Mitchell, Kizzire thrives in two of our key categories for the week. He’s T-4 in proximity from the fairway and fifth in birdie average. Last season, Kizzire finished T-15 at this event.

Midweek betting odds for Florida football vs. Kentucky Wildcats

Here are the Wednesday odds for Florida football’s homecoming game against the Kentucky Wildcats this weekend.

Homecoming is this weekend for the Florida football program and this year’s opponent will be the Kentucky Wildcats — a school the Gators had dominated over three decades until recently. With three days remaining before the big game, some of the latest betting lines have shifted slightly.

The Orange and Blue lost in overtime at the Tennessee Volunteers last weekend in a game that was closer than most expected but remain in dire need of any and every win they can get in the second half of the season.

The Wildcats were tripped up by the Vanderbilt Commodores in Lexington, which stripped them of their 12 votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 7 and continues their free fall from the preseason rankings.

Florida vs. Kentucky football betting odds

The Gators are favored by 1.5 points over the Wildcats — down one point from Monday’s update — according to BetMGM. Here are the full odds as of 2:20 p.m. ET Wednesday.

Team Spread Over/Under Money Line
Kentucky +1.5

O 42.5

How to Watch

Here’s everything you need to watch the Florida Gators take on the Kentucky Wildcats.

  • When: Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7:45 p.m. ET
  • Where: Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, Florida
  • TV channel: SEC Network
  • Live stream: Fubo (watch FREE with trial)

Prediction

The remainder of the season looks a lot more grim with the loss of starting quarterback Graham Mertz, but if anyone on the roster can fill his shoes, it is true freshman DJ Lagway.

Kentucky on the other hand has face-planted in SEC play so far and is facing Florida in the Swamp. Sure, they beat the Ole Miss Rebels by three and fought the Georgia Bulldogs to a 13-12 loss, but the South Carolina Gamecocks and Vanderbilt Commodores both found ways to finish them off.

DJ Lagway will explode in this one and give the Gator Nation something to finally feel confident in this one. The defense will also continue to improve as it has the past couple of weeks.

Florida 32, Kentucky 21

Shriners Children’s Open 2024 odds, course history and picks to win

The PGA Tour is back in Sin City.

The PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Fall rolls on in Las Vegas for the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin. Back-to-back defending champion Tom Kim — the Korean hasn’t played a Tour event since the FedEx St. Jude Championship in August — highlights the field as he looks for a turkey.

Other players teeing it up on Thursday include Rickie Fowler, Taylor Pendrith, Adam Hadwin, Maverick McNealy, Keith Mitchell and Beau Hossler. Stephan Jaeger, the runner-up at last week’s Black Desert Championship in Utah, is also in the field and looking for his second win of the year.

The winner on Sunday afternoon will earn $1.26 million of the $7 million purse and 500 FedEx Cup points.

Beau Hossler (28/1)

Analysis: Hossler has played some great golf over the last two weeks, losing in a playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship and tying for 11th at the Black Desert Championship. He’s returning to a venue where he’s seen some success with two top-10 finishes in six starts, including a T-7 performance last season.

It’s time Beau gets win No. 1.

Adam Hadwin (40/1)

Analysis: Hadwin hasn’t played in a Tour event since the BMW Championship in August, but thanks to his course history, this is a spot we have to take the Canadian. Over the last five years, Hadwin has finished inside the top 10 four times including a solo runner-up to Kim in 2023.

Matti Schmid (45/1)

Analysis: Schmid has gotten better and better with every start this fall. He opened with a T-58 showing at the Procore Championship and followed it up with a T-16 finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship. Finally, at last week’s Black Desert, Schmid grabbed solo fifth. In his lone start at the Shriners, Schmid tied for 26th last year.

The Athletic picks Florida to cover spread as underdogs at Tennessee

The smart money isn’t on Florida pulling off an upset against Tennessee this week, but The Athletic’s experts like UF to cover the spread.

Florida isn’t favored to win against Tennessee this week, but the experts at The Athletic think that the Gators will cover the plus-15.5 spread set by BetMGM.

For those who don’t burn their hard-earned money on sports gambling, Florida needs to lose by 15 points or less, or win outright, to cover the spread.

Austin Mock, Dan Santaromita and Chris Vannini all picked Florida against the spread, while David Ubben stood alone picking Tennessee.

“Florida’s defense has allowed nearly 400 yards per game so this could be a classic get-right game for Iamaleava and Tennessee,” Santaromita wrote. “There is more hope in Gainesville after the 3-2 Gators picked up wins by multiple scores against Mississippi State and UCF the last two weeks.”

The Gators have a long history of beating the Volunteers, winning 17 of the last 19 meetings, including a 29-16 win over a then-11th-ranked Tennessee team last September. However, the Vols did win Knoxville two seasons ago during the first year of the Billy Napier era.

Florida vs. UCF football betting odds

The Vols are favored by 14.5 points over the Gators according to BetMGM — down one point from Wednesday’s midweek update. Here are the full odds as of noon ET Friday.
