Over 1.5 rounds (-160)

These two fighters are familiar with each other which is best shown by the “3” at the end of the name of the fight card. In the first bout in 2014, McGregor won in the first round. Poirier won January’s second bout in the second round.

Both know what is at stake in this one and each fighter knows the strengths of the other. With both combatants having a 54% defense rate, they’d have to come out of the gates swinging for this one to end in the first round.

At this value, I’d certainly bet against a quick finish in the main event.

McGregor to win (+110)

McGregor’s two fights against Poirier have been oddly timed. The first was very early in his career, the second was this past January as his first fight in over a year.

The former champ has everything to lose with a second straight loss to Poirier, the lightweight division’s No. 1 challenger. On top of that, he’s a showman and should put his best effort forward in front of a packed T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Already having made his presence felt at the weigh-in event, I expect a strong performance from the former belt-holder, especially with the division’s throne being relinquished by Khabib Nurmagomedov.

PLAY: Free Poirier vs. McGregor 3 pick’em contest

Fight to end via KO/TKO/DQ (-250)

The two previous fights between Poirier and McGregor ended before the third round in technical knockouts. Neither fighter often chooses to go to the ground, so expect this fight to be an upright brawl.

McGregor has 19 KOs in 22 wins. Poirier, who is a tad bit more of a grappler, still has 14 KOs in 27 victories.

This is a strong favorite for the method of victory as combining both styles and the previous battles paints a clear picture of what’s likely to happen at UFC 264, and that’s a knockout of some type.

This is a great bet to toss in a parlay, but also one that can be taken by itself.

Bet No. 1 – Sean O’Malley to knockout Kris Moutinho (-300)

O’Malley’s style is strike heavy, and he should easily be the more dominant fighter against Moutinho.

He has won 13 fights and has just 1 loss. Nine of those wins were via KO/TKO. That’s what I’d expect to happen in this one. It’s -300, so the oddsmakers also think this one is relatively likely with an implied win probability of 75%.

Bet No. 2 – Niko Price to defeat Michel Pereira (+150)

Pereira is 2-2 in his last four bouts. He’s more of a striker but has won with his grappling as well. As for Price, he lands over 5 significant strikes per minute and has a grappling defense rate of 72%.

Assuming they both stay upright, Price should have the advantage. It’s the biggest risk of the parlay with +150 odds, but it’s a solid addition to the slip.

Bet No. 3 – McGregor to defeat Poirier (+110)

If you’re not sweating out the parlay at the end of the night, why bet? In this case, McGregor will be returning to a packed crowd in Vegas.

He’s a showman, and in his last fight with Poirier, they took to the octagon in front of a smaller crowd at Fight Island. Both are heavy strikers and are highly familiar with each other. Expect McGregor to get back into the swing of things with his first win since January 2020.

McGregor is the slight underdog in this one.

Total odds:+600

The +600 odds would return a profit of $600 on a $100 parlay bet if all three legs hit.

UFC 264 odds, picks and predictions: 5 best bets

Looking at the odds and lines for UFC 264, with our 5 best bets, picks and predictions for the Poirier vs. McGregor card.

As the main event of Saturday’s highly anticipated UFC 264, Conor McGregor returns to the octagon to take on Dustin Poirier on an absolutely loaded main card. The main card is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m ET, with the event held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 odds and lines, with our five best bets for Saturday’s fights.

5 best bets for UFC 264

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 11:55 a.m. ET.

UFC 264 best bet: Niko Price to win (+150)

Price is an aggressive fighter entering with a 14-4 record. He lands 5.33 significant strikes per minute but this will be a clash of styles as his opponent, Michel Pereira, is more of a grappler.

Price has 12 UFC fights under his best and is 6-4 with two no contests. Pereira is 3-2 in his UFC appearances. I’m going with the more experienced striker in this one, especially coming in as an underdog.

UFC 264 best bet: Sean O’Malley to win in Round 1 (+110)

Kris Moutinho was surprised to get the call up to fight O’Malley, one of the most outlandish UFC fighters.

O’Malley is a heavy favorite to win at -900 and even for him to win via KO/TKO or DQ is pricey at -300. However, betting on absolute dominance from the start for the star is worth the risk.

Six of O’Malley’s last nine fights ended in the first round. Averaging over 6 significant strikes per minute, expect an aggressive start and quick finish.

Special UFC 264 Betting Promotion!

Place a $1 bet on either Conor McGregor or Dustin Poirier’s money line, WIN $100 (in free bets) if either fighter records a knockdown during UFC 264.

UFC 264 best bet: Gilbert Burns to win (+135)

Burns is getting back into the octagon after a loss to Kamara Usman at UFC 258 in February.

Prior to that, the 34-year-old grapple-heavy fighter took down Tyron Woodley, and he had won his last six fights before the loss to Usman. He takes on 38-year-old Stephen Thompson in the penultimate fight of the night.

Burns is an underdog against Thompson, who has lost three of his last six bouts. If Burns can get him on the ground, this one should be his even if it does go the distance.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

UFC 264 best bet: Ilia Topuria to win (-225)

The price is risky, but the 24-year-old Topuria is a rising star. He’s 10-0 in his career and 2-0 at the UFC level, ending his last fight in the first round. Opponent Ryan Hall is 4-0 at the UFC level and 8-1 in his career.

He’s a more disciplined fighter, having won three of his four fights by decision. Topuria is equally as good at striking and is a much better grappler. Expect the 24-year-old to get the best of the 36-year-old Hall.

UFC 264 best bet: Conor McGregor to win (+110)

A showman at his core, McGregor does his best work with the crowd backing him. Poirier and McGregor are both strike-heavy fighters and Poirier took down the former champ in Round 2 at January’s UFC 257 after The Notorious hadn’t fought for over a year.

That bout was at Fight Island with limited fans in attendance. This time should be a completely different fight.

This could be McGregor officially bringing himself back, and with both fighters familiar with each other, I think he’ll draw energy from the crowd and manage to defeat Poirier.

UFC 264: Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier, with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a lightweight bout in Saturday’s main event, Dustin Poirier and Conor McGregor meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main event’s expected to begin around midnight ET. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 Poirier vs. McGregor odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

Poirier and McGregor face each other in the third installment of their trilogy. Poirier picked up a second-round TKO victory at UFC 257 in their last meeting in January. McGregor won the first battle via a first-round TKO at UFC 178 in 2014.

Poirier has victories in six of his past seven fights, with five of those bouts finishing inside the distance. He was submitted by Khabib Nurmagomedov, with four of the stoppage wins all coming by way of KO/TKO.

McGregor, a.k.a. “Notorious”, won just three of his last six fights and 10 of his last 11 bouts ended via stoppage. He was routinely ticking off early-round wins via KO/TKO from 2013-15, but he has slowed considerably in recent years.

UFC 264 Dustin Poirier vs. Conor McGregor: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Poirier 27-6-0 | McGregor 22-5-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

McGregor (+110) is still quite the draw when it comes to pay-per-view signups and overall interest in the card, but POIRIER (-135) is easily on the better trajectory. He recorded a TKO of the former champ in the second round last time out, and he’ll take the rubber match, too, as McGregor is a shell of his former self.

Poirier hasn’t had a submission win since TUF 16 against Jonathan Brookins in 2012, so you can leave that out of the equation. Instead, play POIRIER BY KO/TKO OR DQ (+165) on the 7-way line for Method of Victory.

PLAY: Free UFC 264 pick’em contest

Over/Under (O/U)

This fight is going to end just like the other two matchups in this trilogy, and that’s by way of the KO/TKO. However, you cannot play No (-375) to “Will the fight go the distance?”, as that’s just too expensive.

Instead, look to UNDER 3.5 ROUNDS (-225). It’s also a little on the pricey side, but it’s hard to imagine Poirier needing longer than that to finish the former champ.

In addition, taking POIRIER IN ROUND 2 (+650) and POIRIER IN ROUND 3 (+800) is a good play in a two-round block. Yes, you will lose one of those bets, but if Poirier drops Notorious in Round 2 or 3, you will be well ahead.

UFC 264: Irene Aldana vs. Yana Kunitskaya odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Irene Aldana and Yana Kunitskaya with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a women’s bantamweight bout on Saturday’s main card, Irene Aldana and Yana Kunitskaya meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 Aldana vs. Kunitskaya odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET, and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

Aldana lost her last time out against Holly Holm, losing via unanimous decision on Oct. 3, 2020. She is just 2-2 across the past four fights, with three bouts decided by the judges.

Kunitskaya, a.k.a. “Foxy”, has posted back-to-back unanimous-decision wins over Julija Stoliarenko and Ketlen Vieira. Four of her past five fights have ended up going the distance.

UFC 264 Irene Aldana vs. Yana Kunitskaya: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Aldana 12-6-0 | Kunitskaya 14-5-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

KUNITSKAYA (-105) is a slight underdog in this battle against Aldana (-115). She has won four of her past five fights, while Aldana has been dropped two of her past four bouts.

I like the way she is fighting much better than her Mexican counterpart, although I expect this one to need the judges to help decide a winner.

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing Yes (-275): Will the fight go the distance? is quite a bit expensive, costing you nearly three times your potential return.

UFC 264: Sean O’Malley vs. Kris Moutinho odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Sean O’Malley and Kris Moutinho with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a bantamweight bout on Saturday’s main card, Sean O’Malley and Kris Moutinho meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 O’Malley vs. Moutinho odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET, and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

O’Malley heads into this one with advantages of four inches in the height department and five inches in the reach category. Each of his past four fights has resulted in KO/TKO, with three victories. That includes a third-round knockout of Thomas Almeida last time out at UFC 260.

Moutinho will be making his UFC promotion debut. The last time he was in the octagon he won via submission/arm triangle against Andrew Salas at CFFC 96 on May 28. Each of his past four fights has ended via stoppages.

UFC 264 Sean O’Malley vs. Kris Moutinho: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: O’Malley 13-1-0 | Moutinho 9-4-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

O’Malley (-900) will cost you nine times your potential return, so you obviously cannot make that play. Over the long term that’s a bad betting strategy.

Instead, play O’MALLEY BY KO/TKO OR DQ (-300) lightly on the 7-way line, as a knockout is inevitable for the fighter with multi-colored hair.

Even better, play O’MALLEY BY KO/TKO/DQ IN ROUND 1 (+110), and hope for a quick finish against the newcomer.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

Playing UNDER 1.5 ROUNDS (-175) is a little on the expensive side, but it’s a solid play. The hard-hitting O’Malley will give Moutinho a very rude welcome to the UFC promotion.

UFC 264: Gilbert Burns vs. Stephen Thompson odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a welterweight bout on Saturday’s main card, Gilbert Burns and Stephen Thompson meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 Burns vs. Thompson odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET, and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

Burns steps into the octagon two inches shorter than his counterpart, and with a four-inch disadvantage in the reach department. However, Burns has the advantage in the takedown average department by a 2.08-to-0.32 margin.

Burns was dropped last time out in a third-round knockout by Kamaru Usman for the strap in the main event at UFC 258. Two of his past three fights have ended via stoppage, and just four of his past 10 bouts have been decisions.

Thompson, a.k.a. “Wonderboy”, has picked up consecutive unanimous-decision victories over Geoff Neal and Vicente Luque after a two-bout losing streak. Seven of his past eight fights have ended up going the distance, with four wins, two losses and a draw in those bouts.

UFC 264 Gilbert Burns vs. Stephen Thompson: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Burns 19-4-0 | Thompson 16-4-1

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

BURNS (+135) is a value play on the 2-way line, as his only loss since July 7, 2018 is a third-round KO/TKO loss to Usman, and there is no shame in that.

Thompson (-160) is just 3-3 across his past six bouts, although his recent fight history is littered with top fighters. The “Wonderboy” won’t be an easy out for Burns, but I like the Brazilian fighter at this price.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

YES (-140): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is a strong play, and this particular bout has the chance for Fight of the Night honors. It should be a tremendous brawl that goes to the bitter end.

OVER 2.5 ROUNDS (-150) isn’t a bad play and gives you a little wiggle room in the event of a late stoppage.

In addition, playing BURNS ON POINTS (+350) is worth a roll of the dice for the chance to more than triple up on your initial wager.

UFC 264: Tai Tuivasa vs. Greg Hardy odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Tai Tuivasa and Greg Hardy with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a heavyweight bout on Saturday’s main card, Tai Tuivasa and Greg Hardy meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 Tuivasa vs. Hardy odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET, and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

Tuivasa has picked up consecutive first-round KO/TKO victories over Harry Hunsucker and Stefan Struve after a three-bout skid. In 15 career professional bouts, he is 11-1 via KO/TKO, and he has 13 stoppages and just two fights go the distance.

Hardy is looking to bounce back after a KO/TKO loss to Marcin Tybura on Dec. 19, 2020. Each of his past two fights has ended via knockout, going 1-1, and seven of his 10 career professional bouts have been KO/TKO results (6-1).

UFC 264 Tai Tuivasa vs. Greg Hardy: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Tuivasa 12-3-0 | Hardy 7-3-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

This fight is going to be an absolute brawl, and it’s going to end via knockout. As such, without specifying a winner, play KO/TKO/DQ (-165): HOW WILL THE FIGHT FINISH?

In addition, I like TUIVASA (-135) for the win on the 2-way line, as I think he is a little more polished than the former Dallas Cowboys linebacker Hardy (+110). TUIVASA BY KO/TKO OR DQ (+150) is also a value play on the 5-way line.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

This fight is not going to need the judges. As such, albeit a bit expensive, take NO (-200): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? for a slam-dunk play.

Going for UNDER 2.5 ROUNDS (-150) is an even better value, and should come in as well.

UFC 264: Carlos Condit vs. Max Griffin odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Carlos Condit vs. Max Griffin with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a welterweight bout in Saturday’s prelims, Carlos Condit and Max Griffin meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 Condit vs. Griffin odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

Condit has pieced together a two-bout win streak after snapping a five-fight losing skid. He’s gone from fighting for a strap at UFC 195 on Jan. 2, 2016 against Robbie Lawler to fighting for his spot in the UFC promotion. Things have leveled out with two unanimous-decision wins over Matt Brown and Court McGee.

Griffin also enters with two straight victories, both by KO/TKO, including a first-round stoppage against Song Kenan last time out on March 20. The two knockouts ended a stretch of seven consecutive decisions.

UFC 264 Carlos Condit vs. Max Griffin: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Condit 32-13-0 | Griffin 17-8-0

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Griffin (-190) is a little expensive against a veteran like Condit, although I expect the 35-year-old to be able to take him down. The better play here, based upon Griffin’s recent string of knockout victories, is playing GRIFFIN BY KO/TKO OR DQ (+260) on the 7-way line for a nice potential pay day.

Over/Under (O/U)

As I am picking Griffin for the KO/TKO or DQ win, NO (+140): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? is also the way to go. You could roll the dice on UNDER 2.5 ROUNDS (+165) for a little added value, too.

In addition, playing GRIFFIN BY KO/TKO/DQ IN ROUND 1 (+850) and GRIFFIN BY KO/TKO/DQ IN ROUND 2 (+900) in the Round and Method of Victory section is a good deal. If Griffin knocks out Condit in the first two rounds you will lose one end but you’ll still be very much ahead.

UFC 264: Niko Price vs. Michel Pereira odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s UFC 264 fight between Niko Price vs. Michel Pereira with MMA odds, picks, tips and predictions.

In a welterweight bout in Saturday’s prelims, Niko Price and Michel Pereira meet at UFC 264 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Below, we analyze the UFC 264 Price vs. Pereira odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

The early prelims begin at 6 p.m ET on ESPN/ESPN+ with the prelims starting at 8 p.m. ET and the main card on Pay-Per-View at 10 p.m. ET.

Price heads into this one with a three-inch reach advantage over his counterpart. He uses his long reach to get to the opponent early and often, posting 5.33 significant strikes landed per minute on 45.09% significant strike accuracy.

Pereira picked a unanimous decision victory against Khaos Williams his last time out at UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Neal in December 2020. He comes into this one on a two-fight win streak.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 Rounds (Over +105 | Under -130)
  • Will the fight go the distance? (Yes +130 | No -160)

UFC 264 Niko Price vs. Michel Pereira: Odds, lines, predictions and picks

Records: Price 14-4-0 (2 NC) | Pereira 25-11-0 (2 NC)

Fight result (2-way line or money line)

Pereira will cost you nearly two times your potential return, and that’s quite risky against a knockout artist like PRICE (+150). I actually like the underdog as a much better value. Price is 10-3 via KO/TKO in 18 career bouts. As such, playing PRICE BY KO/TKO OR DQ (+285) on the 7-way line is a very good play, too.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

I am actually quite surprised that NO (-160): WILL THE FIGHT GO THE DISTANCE? isn’t much more costly, and that’s a good thing. Price has gone the distance just twice in his pro career, and just once in 12 career UFC bouts, while Pereira has needed the judges to get involved in just two of his five fights at the UFC level. Those are the only two times in his last 13 professional bouts dating back to Dec. 8, 2017, that have gone to the judges.
