Bennett Myers commits to Tennessee

A story announcing Bennett Myers’ decision to play college baseball for the University of Tennessee.

LAWRENCEVILE — The University of Tennessee baseball team and head coach Tony Vitello picked a commitment from a junior in Kentucky recently.

Franklin County High School pitcher and infielder Bennett Myers announced his intention to come to Knoxville and play baseball for the Volunteers on Wednesday.

He announced his commitment to the Big Orange on a social media post via Twitter.

He tweeted:

“Through the grace of God, I’m blessed to announce my commitment to the University of Tennessee.”

Myers is a junior at Franklin County High School in Frankfort, Kentucky and lists his hometown as Lawrenceville in the Bluegrass State.

He was named a 2020 Honorable Mention All-American by Perfect Game. He was also named Most Valuable Player of the 2020 Prep Baseball Report’s Future Games Team Kentucky squad.

The future Vol pitches and plays first and third base and has a 4.0 Grade Point Average.
