Did the Bears leave a clue about their plans for Allen Robinson?

Bears fans are knee-deep in quarterback conversation, and rightfully so with the speculation that GM Ryan Pace is about to pull the trigger on a blockbuster trade for Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz.
Beneath the quarterback talk lies another, and equally important, roster decision the team must make this offseason. Wide receiver Allen Robinson is scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.
Then came the Bears’ tweet on Monday promoting the 2021 offseason. Robinson is part of the promotion, which suggests he’s in their plans, right?.
If the Bears didn’t think Robinson would (or could) be re-signed, there’s no way they’d include him in a video with Khalil Mack, David Montgomery, Cole Kmet, Eddie Jackson, Roquan Smith, and Darnell Mooney.
Including Robinson with the rest of the Bears’ core players suggests he’ll be around for a while, or at the very least, for another year on the franchise player tag

ESPN’s 2020 NFL re-draft proves just how good Bears’ draft class was

With one season in the books for the Bears’ 2020 rookie class, it’s safe to say GM Ryan Pace did a good job adding quality young players to a roster that needs it.
The Bears were without a first-round pick for the second consecutive year because of the 2018 trade for Khalil Mack, but Chicago’s selections in Round 2 paid big dividends.
Pace used the first of those two picks on Notre Dame tight end Cole Kmet. The second second-rounder, cornerback Jaylon Johnson, was at times the best rookie defender in the NFL.
At pick 43, the Bears stick with Kmet. But at pick 50, the Bears select Darnell Mooney, who they took in the fifth round last April. Why? Because Johnson is already off the board.
In this re-draft, Johnson is a top-20 pick (No. 20 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars).
Essentially, the Bears nailed the 43rd pick with Kmet, got first-round value with Johnson at No. 50, and a second-round prospect in the fifth round with Mooney

PFF thinks the Bears should pursue WR JuJu Smith-Schuster in free agency

Fixing the quarterback position for the future will be the biggest question for the offseason with the Bears.
Bears will also face the daunting task of building a receivers room possibly without Allen Robinson, who is set to hit the open market.
Pro Football Focus examined the needs for every team this offseason.
For the Bears, it’s Pittsburgh Steelers receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, which makes sense given Chicago’s need at wide-out.
Smith-Schuster would figure to be a cheaper option than Robinson coming off a less impressive season than Robinson

Saints S CJ Gardner-Johnson gets another Bears receiver ejected

Bears receiver Anthony Miller was ejected for throwing a punch at Saints safety CJ Gardner-Johnson following a play in the third quarter.
Does that name sound familiar? It should. Gardner-Johnson was the one that instigated things with receiver Javon Wims back in Week 8, where Wims retaliated by throwing a couple of punches his way.
Gardner-Johnson has been an instigator, that much is obvious. But the Bears have been warned about him, especially considering what happened with Wims earlier this season.
Miller has been a disappointment in his third season. While he has all the potential in the world, the Bears can’t continue to hope for him to take the next step

Bears K Cairo Santos named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month

While the Bears have plenty of questions to answer following the 2020 season, one of those is not at the kicker position.
Cairo Santos started the season as an “in case of emergency” option for the Bears when Eddy Pineiro went down with a groin injury. But Santos quickly established himself as the answer to Chicago’s kicker woes.
Santos has been impressive all season, but especially as the Bears battled to secure a wild-card spot over the last month. Santos’ performance has earned his NFC Special Teams Player of the Month honors for December.
In the last four games, Santos made all 12 of his field goals in three victories and one loss for the Bears.
Santos hasn’t just been good, he’s been record-breaking for the Bears. Santos connected on his final 27 field-goal attempts this season, which eclipsed the mark of 26 in a row set by Robbie Gould back in 2005-06
