Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks and predictions.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”4141″ ]

The Chicago Bears (4-12) visit the Green Bay Packers (11-5) Sunday. Kickoff from Lambeau Field is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET (FOX). Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NFL odds around the Bears vs. Packers odds, and make our expert NFL picks and predictions.

Chicago has lost 10 games in a row after falling 6-3 against the Seattle Seahawks Dec. 26 as a 4-point home underdog. QB Caleb Williams went 16 of 28 for 122 yards with an INT.

Even though Chicago has been eliminated from playoff contention since Week 15, Bears interim coach Thomas Brown confirmed Monday that Williams will start in Week 18.

Green Bay snapped a 2-game winning streak with a 27-25 loss at the Minnesota Vikings Sunday in Week 17 as a 1-point underdog. QB Jordan Love went 19 of 30 for 185 yards with a TD while RB Josh Jacobs carried the ball 17 times for 69 yards and a TD.

The Packers are playing for the No. 6 seed in the NFC. In order to get it, they will need a win Sunday combined with a Dallas Cowboys victory over the Washington Commanders (also Sunday at 1 p.m. ET). Any other scenario results in Green Bay getting the No. 7 seed.

If the Packers are the No. 6 seed, they will travel in the Wild Card round to face the winner of either the NFC South or NFC West (likely the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or LA Rams, respectively). As the seventh seed, Green Bay would play on the road at the Philadelphia Eagles.

Bears at Packers picks and predictions

Prediction

Packers 20, Bears 14

Moneyline

PASS.

There is no value on the Packers (-500) to beat the Bears for a 12th straight time Sunday.

Against the spread

BET BEARS +10 (-110).

The Bears are planning to start Williams because they feel the young QB getting more experience outweighs the slim chance of injury. Williams should not be expected to coast Sunday, but rather give his team and the fans a glimmer of hope heading into the offseason. Chicago has covered in its only other game this season playing as a 10-point underdog.

In a Nov. 17 meeting, the Bears covered as 6-point home underdogs in a 20-19 Packers win.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 41 (-110).

Chicago has hit the Under in 7 of its last 10 games. It has scored 13 or fewer points in 3 of its last 4 games, including Sunday in Week 17 when it failed to score a touchdown.

While Green Bay has been solid offensively this season, it is not guaranteed that its starters will play the second half (since Washington could have a huge lead over Dallas at halftime). Green Bay has hit the Under in 5 of its last 8 games while allowing 13 or fewer points in 2 of its last 3.

Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Sunday’s Chicago Bears at Green Bay Packers odds and lines, with expert NFL picks, predictions and best bets.

The Chicago Bears (4-8) face the Green Bay Packers (9-3) on the road for an old NFC North rivalry on Sunday Night Football in Week 14.  Kickoff is 8:20 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field. Below, we look at the Bears vs. Packers odds and lines, and make our best NFL picks, predictions and bets.

The Packers are coming off their bye week. They split their four games before the bye, beating the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks and losing to the Minnesota Vikings and Kansas City Chiefs. QB Aaron Rodgers has thrown 23 touchdown passes this season and only 4 interceptions.

The Bears are struggling and have recorded six losses in their last seven games; the one win was a last-second victory over the Detroit Lions. They are coming off a 33-22 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 13 and lost 24-14 to the Packers in Week 6.

Bears at Packers odds, lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Packers 24, Bears 17

Money line

PASS on the money line as there is no value in betting more than seven times your return. A Bears win would make a big payout, but their only win since Oct. 10 was beating the Lions and Rodgers is 21-5 in 26 career starts against them.

Against the spread

The Bears are 4-8 ATS on the season and the Packers lead the NFL at 10-2 ATS. The Packers won by 10 points in the Week 6 meeting in Chicago but were only favored by 5.5 points in that game.

Division games are always tough and it’s hard to beat a team twice in a season. The Packers will almost certainly win this game, but I believe it will be a one-score game, even if Green Bay controls the clock.

Take the BEARS +11.5 (-112).

Over/Under

Both Green Bay and Chicago are 4-8 O/U on the season and combined for only 38 points in their first meeting.

The Packers’ last two games went Over the projected total, but seven straight games went Under before that.

Take UNDER 42.5 (-108).

Bears at Packers: Game notes

  • The Bears enter on a four-game losing streak, most recently dropping a 19-13 decision at home to the Minnesota Vikings as 3.5-point underdogs in Week 10. QB Mitchell Trubisky (59.3% completion rate, 560 passing yards, 6 touchdowns and 3 interceptions) returns as the starter after being benched in the middle of a Week 3 win at the Atlanta Falcons.
  • The Packers, who lead the NFC North by two games over the second-place Bears, are coming off a 34-31 overtime loss at the Indianapolis Colts in Week 11. Green Bay started the season 4-0 but is 3-3 over its last six games.
  • Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is 18-5 in games started against the Bears. For the season, the two-time MVP has thrown for 2,889 yards, completing 68.2% of his passes with 29 TDs vs. 4 picks.
  • Green Bay’s third-down situations should be the difference in this one. The Packers convert 47.9% of their third-down attempts, ranking fourth in the NFL. The Bears defense ranks third in allowing opponents to convert 33.3% of their third-down snaps.
  • The Bears are 5-5 ATS, and the Packers are 6-4 ATS with both teams failing to cover in each of their last two games.
  • The Packers took the last two games in the head-to-head series. They won 21-13 at home Dec. 15, 2019, as 4-point favorites, and prevailed 10-3 Sept. 5, 2019, as 3.5-point dogs.

Bears at Packers: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Packers 27, Bears 13

Money line (?)

PASS. The Packers will win, but the -417 price is not worth the risk.

Against the spread (?)

GREEN BAY -9 (-110) is the STRONGEST PLAY – 1.5 times your usual wager. Look for Rodgers to continue his domination of Chicago. Plus, the Packers have had a full week to think about how they blew it at Indy last Sunday – they led 28-14 at the half before losing in OT.

Over/Under (?)

The UNDER 43.5 (-106) is the way to go. The Bears are 3-7 vs. the O/U this season, averaging just 19.1 points per game to rank second-to-last in the NFL. Plus, their defense is a stingy one, allowing 20.9 PPG to rank sixth.

Just beware of the Packers offense, which scores 30.8 PPG, third-best in the league.
