Bears TE Cole Kmet’s knee injury ‘looks positive’

Cole Kmet suffered a knee injury in Sunday’s win against the Cardinals. While it looks positive, the Bears have to wait and see tomorrow.

The Chicago Bears kicked off the holidays with a win against the Arizona Cardinals, but it didn’t come without a cost.

Tight end Cole Kmet suffered a knee injury early in the third quarter of Sunday’s game, and he didn’t return. Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters after the game that Kmet’s injury “looks positive,” although the Bears will have to wait and see Monday.

Kmet’s injury was a huge blow to Chicago’s offense, which had an explosive first half against Arizona. Kmet had four catches for a career-high 107 yards — and even though he missed most of the second half, he still led the Bears in receiving.

Kmet has been a valuable asset to Chicago’s passing offense, where he’s been one of the few dependable weapons for quarterback Justin Fields. The Bears inked Kmet to a four-year contract extension last summer, and he’s proving to be worth every penny.

With two games left this season, Kmet is already having a career year. He already has a career-high 66 receptions for 678 yards. His six touchdowns are just one shy from tying his career-best seven scores from 2022.

Bears TE Cole Kmet expected to play, RB D’Onta Foreman out vs. Cardinals

There’s good and bad news for the Bears offense ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Cardinals.

The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a Christmas Eve showdown against the Arizona Cardinals, where there are some notable updates about the statuses of two important offensive contributors.

Tight end Cole Kmet has been battling a quad injury this week, and he was dubbed questionable for Sunday. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Kmet is expected to play against the Cardinals, giving quarterback Justin Fields one of his most dependable weapons.

Unfortunately, the Bears will be without running back D’Onta Foreman, who’s been dealing with a personal matter this week. Foreman has established himself as Chicago’s top running back this season, and the offense will certainly miss him. Luckily, they’ve got two capable backs in Khalil Herbert and rookie Roschon Johnson to shoulder the load.

The Bears and Cardinals kick things off at 3:25 p.m. CT at Soldier Field, where Chicago is looking to get back in the win column after last week’s brutal loss to the Cleveland Browns.

Bears Week 16 injury report: Teven Jenkins out, Cole Kmet questionable vs. Cardinals

The Bears have released their final injury report and game designations ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Cardinals.

The Chicago Bears (5-9) released their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 16 game against the Arizona Cardinals (3-11).

The Bears have ruled out guard Teven Jenkins (concussion), wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) and linebacker Noah Sewell (knee) for Sunday.

Tight end Cole Kmet (quad) and running backs D’Onta Foreman (personal) and Travis Homer (hamstring) have been deemed questionable.

The good news is defensive end DeMarcus Walker (shin) and wide receiver Darnell Mooney (illness) were removed from the injury report.

Jenkins remains in concussion protocol after suffering a concussion in Sunday’s loss to the Cleveland Browns. Meanwhile, Walker suffered a leg injury that bears monitoring heading into Christmas Eve’s showdown against Arizona.

Following Yannick Ngakoue’s season-ending ankle injury, the Bears are down to just Montez Sweat, Walker, Rasheem Green and Dominique Robinson at defensive end.

Bears OL Teven Jenkins ruled out with concussion

The Bears offensive line was dealt a blow as Teven Jenkins (concussion) is out for the remainder of the Browns game.

The Chicago Bears suffered a big blow along the offensive line with left guard Teven Jenkins exiting Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.

Jenkins suffered a concussion late in the second quarter, and he needed help leaving the field. Jenkins was carted to the locker room ahead of halftime and later ruled out.

Cody Whitehair replaced Jenkins at left guard, where he started the season. Whitehair was benched when right guard Nate Davis made his return to the lineup three games ago and Jenkins was back at left guard.

It’s been a close battle between the Bears and Browns, where both defenses have made their presence known. Whitehair and the rest of the offensive line face a tall task against this Cleveland defensive front, now down arguably their best offensive lineman, in the second half.

Bears Week 15 injury report: DJ Moore, Jaquan Brisker questionable vs. Browns

The Bears have released their final injury report and game designations ahead of Sunday’s matchup against the Browns.

The Chicago Bears (5-8) released their final injury report ahead of Sunday’s Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns (8-5).

Following the final practice of the week, there’s encouraging news about the statuses of two key starters on offense and defense.

Wide receiver DJ Moore has been nursing an ankle injury this week, which sidelined him Wednesday. But Moore was a full participant in practice Friday and listed as questionable for Sunday.

Safety Jaquan Brisker is battling a groin injury that held him out of Thursday’s practice. But he returned to practice in limited fashion on Friday and has deemed questionable against the Browns.

Elsewhere, wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (pectoral) and linebacker Noah Sewell (knee) have been ruled out.

On the Browns side, center Ethan Pocic has been ruled out, leaving Cleveland with just two healthy starting offensive linemen against Chicago. Defensive end Ogbo Okoronkwo and safety Juan Thornhill have also been ruled out.
