Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona odds, expert picks and prediction

Analyzing Wednesday’s Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona odds and lines, with Champions League picks and predictions.

On Wednesday, Barcelona (2 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw) travels to Allianz Arena to take on Bayern Munich (5-0-0). Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona odds and lines, and make our best Champions League bets, picks and predictions.

Already having clinched Group E, Bayern Munich has looked unstoppable, and with the injury to PSG’s Neymar, it could be considered the favorite to win the Champions League.

Bayern Munich is led by star F Robert Lewandowski. He’s been terrific so far this season. Bayern is 8 points ahead of second-place Barcelona in the group. It is 4 points ahead of Dortmund for the top spot in the Bundesliga.

As for Barcelona, it has been sliding on a downhill slope since Lionel Messi left.

It ranks 7th in La Liga competitions with 23 points in 15 games. F Memphis Depay has been its most consistent scorer this season. A win clinches Barcelona a spot in the Champions League knockout round.

Prediction

Bayern Munich 2, Barcelona 1

Money line (ML)

BET BAYERN MUNICH (-200).

The value here isn’t terrific, but it’s certainly good enough to place a wager on. Bayern has looked unstoppable in both Bundesliga play and in Champions League action.

It’s not just that Bayern has won all five games, but it’s how it’s winning.

Although not in the most competitive group, Bayern has scored 19 goals in 5 games and given up 3. Behind two goals from Lewandowski, it took down Barcelona 3-0 in Spain.

Given Barcelona’s recent change in management, I would stay away from betting on the road side.

We’ve seen teams like Liverpool and PSG, which didn’t need a win, come out on top. The case for a sluggish Bayern just isn’t there. It should be at its top form, and I’d bet on Bayern coming out on top.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 3.5 (-110). Barcelona has experience on its backline, and that should help it tame an insanely talented Bayern attack.

With defenders Gerard Pique and Jordi Alba both projected to start, Barcelona should be able to limit a team that scored 3 goals with only 7 shots on target last time these two teams met. Barcelona has just 5 goals in 5 games and has allowed just 6 in UCL play.

Barcelona is as bad of a team as when it faced Bayern in its first meeting. With something to play for in this one, we should get a focused Barcelona team, making the UNDER 3.5 (-110) the better play here.

Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona odds and lines, with Champions League picks and predictions.

To commence their UEFA Champions League play, Barcelona will take on Bayern Munich Tuesday. The Group E match is set to kick off at 3 p.m. ET and will be held at Barcelona’s home stadium of Camp Nou. Below, we preview the Bayern Munich vs. Barcelona odds and lines, and make our best UEFA Champions League bets, picks and predictions.

In the first of three knockout stage matches, fans will get a great show as two of the European powerhouses take the pitch.

While Barcelona, for the first time, won’t have superstar F Lionel Messi on the field, it has transitioned as well as expected with F Memphis Depay getting a ton of action in the early season.

Led by D Gerard Piqué, the Barcelona defense is also a force; however, the same can be said for Germany’s best side, Bayern Munich.

Bayern is led by Polish F Robert Lewandowski. F Leroy Sane should also make his presence felt and GK Manuel Neuer is arguably the best in the world.

Prediction

Bayern Munich 3, Barcelona 2

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to BAYERN MUNICH (+102) as it is just so talented on so many levels.

While Lewandowski leads the pack, it’s a roster full of talent in every area. Barcelona is up there with some world-class players, but Bayern is even more skilled.

Munich also has a unit that’s played consistently together. Thomas Muller, Neuer, and Lewandowski have been through high-level play before.

Last Group Stage they went a clean 3-0, destroying Athletico Madrid, the other side that advanced in the group. With Messi no longer on the roster, it’ll be a learning experience for Barcelona to play a team of this caliber.

I expect Barcelona to struggle. The odds are justified as Bayern is on the road; however, it’s still the more put-together side and one that should come out on top.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 3.5 (+100) as Bayern Munich is an elite attacking side. As noted, it put four on Athletico last season, with 4 goals in the first knockout round then combined for 5 with PSG.

It’s tough to gauge how Barcelona could play given how much it’ll have to adjust to life without Messi, but it has played well in La Liga so far.

Neuer thinks Barcelona will be unpredictable and iIf he’s right, Barcelona could manage a couple of goals and this will be a goal-heavy match.

Barcelona at Athletic Bilbao odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Barcelona at Athletic Bilbao odds and lines, with La Liga picks and predictions.

Following a terrific opening weekend, star-studded Barcelona (1 win, 0 losses, 0 draws) travels to take on Athletic Bilbao (0-0-1) Saturday. The match is set to kick off at 4 p.m. ET at San Mamés in Bilbao, Spain. Below, we preview the Barcelona at Athletic Bilbao odds and lines, and make our best La Liga bets, picks and predictions.

If you looked at the table, you’d never know Barcelona just lost arguably the greatest player in this generation with F Lionel Messi’s departure to PSG.

Barca is not in any way shorthanded in attacking, as 27-year-old F Memphis Depay has taken over as the 9 for the renowned club. Barcelona defeated Real Sociedad 4-2 in its season opener.

It’ll be taking on an Athletic side that drew its opener with Elche. Despite Bilbao’s 9 shots and 8 corners, it wasn’t able to get on the board as it ended in a 0-0 draw.

Prediction

Barcelona 3, Athletic Bilbao 1

Money line (ML)

BET on BARCELONA (-115) despite its continued adjustment to life without Messi.

The attack led by Depay and French F Antoine Griezmann is still elite. The backline with D Gerard Piqué is among the best in the league and its defense with veteran M Sergio Busquets is strong as well.

There isn’t much weakness on the Barcelona roster, and playing a club that finished 10th in the table last season, I’d put my money on Barcelona finding a way to come out on top.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 2.5 (-140) as the best bet on the total.

Barca and its opponent combined for 6 goals last week. Despite Bilbao’s struggles to get on the board, I’d expect more pace in this match which should result in each team netting at least 1 goal.

Bilbao averaged over a goal per game last season, so its offense should eventually come to life. M Alex Berenguer, the 2020-21 scoring leader, is still with the club and should help the offense start to produce.

Even if Bilbao doesn’t get on the board, three for Barca alone shouldn’t be too much of a stretch.
