Ravens allow four sacks as Steelers pull the upset 17-10

A struggling Ravens O-line allowed the Steelers four sacks in Sunday’s loss. Moving forward offensive coordinator Todd Monken must adjust.

Earlier last week, I explained how the Baltimore Ravens needed to be selective with their play-calling in week 5. Well, a struggling Ravens offensive line allowed the Steelers four sacks in Sunday’s loss. Moving forward offensive coordinator Todd Monken must adjust.

Certainly, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin was prepared to fluster Lamar Jackson as much as possible. While the Steelers offense struggled mightily, Pittsburgh’s defense held the Ravens scoreless in the entire second half.

As I’ve stated before, Monken should’ve known to minimize Jackson’s volume passing the ball with the “clear” offensive line problems. Sunday, Jackson completed just 57% of his passes as Monken completely abandoned the running game that led to the 1st quarter touchdown.

Hyper-Analysis

The offensive success the Ravens had in week 4 was sorta deceptive. Though they scored 28 points, their 55 total plays ran were a result of three Browns turnovers. Furthermore, the Ravens were only 4/12 on third-down in that game and still allowed three sacks. These flaws led to their week 5 debacle.

Now, the Ravens sit at 3-2 just one game ahead of the Cincinnati Bengals who may have caught fire Sunday. The Ravens need to recalibrate as this loss may be a turn for the worse in a highly competitive AFC this season.

Ravens’ Week 12 snap counts vs Steelers: A host of unfamiliar faces

With so many players on the Reserve/COVID-19 list, this week’s snap counts look dramatically different for the Baltimore Ravens vs. Steelers

The result was not what the Baltimore Ravens wanted. But given the depleted roster heading into the long-delayed Week 12 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, a 19-14 loss was far from a disaster.

The loss drops Baltimore to 6-5 on the season, which means they can no longer win the AFC North. It also drops them two games behind the Cleveland Browns in the division. With a third consecutive loss, a season that started so promisingly is beginning to unravel for the Ravens.

It’s near impossible to make heads or tails of the snap counts this week thanks to so many new faces getting their first playing time due to the COVID-19 outbreak. But for as disappointing as the final score was, getting an in-game look at what the young players can do is something that should help Baltimore in the long-term.

Let’s dive into the Ravens’ offensive and defensive snap counts from Week 12.

Ravens vs Steelers final score predictions: Is an upset brewing?

The Baltimore Ravens are finally ready to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. We here at Ravens Wire throw out our final score predictions.

It’s almost time for one of the best rivalries in football to add another game to its storied legacy. Despite the Baltimore Ravens being overwhelmed by COVID-19, it should not stop them from putting the pedal to the metal against the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.

With the NFL determined to have this game played during Week 12, the Ravens will be forced to sit numerous starters, including 2019 MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson. This will be a tough test for backup quarterback and former No. 2 pick Robert Griffin III as he leads a depleted offense against one of the most well-coached teams in football.

Here at Ravens Wire, almost all of us believe the Ravens are just too depleted to beat a Pittsburgh team determined to capture the No. 1 seed in the playoffs. However, one of us is bucking all common sense to pick Baltimore in this game.

Let’s take a look at our Ravens vs. Steelers final score predictions:

12 bold predictions for Ravens vs. Steelers: All aboard the Gus Bus

With the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers still scheduled to play Tuesday, we looked at some of the bold things that could happen

Though they probably shouldn’t be, the Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers are still scheduled to square off on Tuesday. The game has been rescheduled twice and more than 20 Ravens players head to the Reserve/COVID-19 list over the last week alone. But, the NFL seems to believe this game can and should still happen.

With so many players set to miss this game, it’s anyone’s guess on how things turn out. We’ve seen Baltimore beat Pittsburgh last season with the backups playing but this is a different year and dramatically different circumstances. Still, we did our best to look at the matchups and see what could happen.

As is usually the case for our bold predictions, we don’t necessarily believe these things will absolutely happen but that they’re a little more probable than you might think. This week is no different as we’re predicting some big plays from the defense and a big day from running back Gus Edwards.

Ravens’ Week 8 snap counts vs. Steelers: Changing the lineup

A look at the playing time for members of the Baltimore Ravens offense and defense in their Week 8 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Baltimore Ravens fell, 28-24, to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. The Ravens now sit at 5-2 on the year, while the Steelers remain unbeaten and atop the AFC and the AFC North. But the loss will be seen as more costly than just on Baltimore’s current record.

Days after signing a lucrative long-term extension, the Ravens lost left tackle Ronnie Stanley to a season-ending ankle injury. Matthew Judon allowed his emotions to get the better of him as he was ejected from the game for contacting an official. Cornerback Marlon Humphrey tested positive for COVID-19. Meanwhile, one of the young stars of the offense broke ranks to make his displeasure regarding his role known to the watching world. There are worrying cracks beginning to develop on this roster.

Let’s dive into the Ravens’ offensive and defensive snap counts from Week 8.

The battle for supremacy in the AFC North heats up in Week 8 when the 6-0 Pittsburgh Steelers take on the 5-1 Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens are coming off a bye following their Week 6 win over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Steelers retained their perfect start to the season with a closely fought victory over the Tennessee Titans, and currently own the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

The Ravens will look a little different this week, with new acquisition Yannick Ngakoue in line for his debut and Ronnie Stanley slightly weighed down in his wallet after signing a long-term extension on Friday. These two teams are no strangers to each other, however, with John Harbaugh and Mike Tomlin two of the longest-tenured coaches in the NFL. This one should be another hard-fought battle in the legacy of arguably the biggest rivalry in sports.

Let’s take a closer look at what the Ravens can expect to see from the Steelers this week.
