With the No. 28 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, the Baltimore Ravens select LSU linebacker Patrick Queen.
The Ravens came into this draft desperately needing help at inside linebacker. After watching Josh Bynes and Patrick Onwuasor leave in free agency a year after seeing C.J. Mosley leave in free agency, Baltimore simply had no guaranteed starters on the roster. Even worse, the Ravens didn’t really have any experienced depth at the position, with only two-of-four players having started a game before.
Queen was considered by many to be the second-best inside linebacker in the 2020 NFL Draft, behind Isaiah Simmons. Baltimore gets a rangy linebacker who can both drop back into coverage and step up in run support. While some analysts were a little concerned over his lack of production at LSU — being a full-time starter just one season — his 2019 film speaks for itself.
Queen is the first LSU player the Ravens have ever drafted.
