Nebraska and Northwestern matched up in Dublin, Ireland, on Saturday, headlining Week 0 in college football.
And the Big Ten kickoff provided one of the more confusing collapses in Scott Frost’s tenure as the Cornhuskers’ head coach.
Up 11 points in the third quarter, Frost decided to go for an onside kick, and the failed attempt added a spark to the Wildcats. One comeback tale later, Northwestern was headed west to the U.S. with the win.
One avoidable loss later, the Nebraska faithful and the team is left with a ton of questions — most of which are pointed at a head coach who is now 5-21 in one-score games.
Of course, the outcome created plenty of must-see TV—football is back!—but the added element of the game taking place in Ireland gave it additional flare.
