The Chargers made a few roster moves on Friday.
Los Angeles placed running back Austin Ekeler on the injured reserve. In correspondence, wide receiver Tyron Johnson was promoted to the active roster. To fill the final spot on the practice squad, the team signed RB Kalen Ballage.
Ekeler is expected to miss four to six weeks with a hamstring injury. Justin Jackson and Joshua Kelley will man the backfield while the dynamic back misses time.
Johnson proved his worth last Sunday against the Buccaneers after catching a 53-yard touchdown upon being called up from the practice squad the day before.
In three seasons between the Dolphins and Jets, Ballage has 339 career rushing yards and four touchdowns while catching 32 passes for 186 yards.
