Auburn ranked No. 22 in first College Football Playoff rankings

At 5-2, Auburn comes in at No. 22 in the first release of the 2020 College Football Playoff rankings that were released on Tuesday.

On Monday during his appearance on Tiger Talk, Gus Malzahn said that if Auburn were to win out, the Tigers should definitely be considered for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

While his team has a lot of work to do to achieve that including on Saturday with a matchup against No. 1 Alabama, the Tigers aren’t too far out of sight from the top four but it would take a lot of things to fall in place for Malzahn and company.

On Tuesday, the first rankings were released and Auburn is current in the No. 22 position.

Alabama, as expected, took the top spot.
