The big news out of this is that the team can now take part in the national championship.

“After a productive meeting, Auburn University and its Bass Fishing Club have mutually agreed to the club sport team and student organization being placed on suspension until April 22, 2021, with the understanding that the club will adhere to all university protocols in the future,” a statement from the university reads.

Logan Park, president of the club, said he was thankful the university was willing to listen to the club and “consider all the facts with an open mind.”

“We have reached an agreement and, most importantly, the Auburn Team is excited about being able to resume representing Auburn University as we pursue another National Championship,” Park said in a statement.

Auburn suspends Bass Fishing team until 2022

Auburn Bass Fishing team has been suspended until 2022 due to violations of the university’s COVID-19 policies.

Auburn’s Bass Fishing team will have to find some other ways to compete for the next two years.

This past weekend, it was announced by the university that, due to violations of COVID-19 policy regarding travel events that took place in July 2020, February 2021 and March 2021, the team has been suspended until 2022.

“No member of the club can travel, recruit for, compete, or represent the Auburn University Bass Fishing Club in any capacity. This includes wearing Auburn University Bass Fishing Club uniforms or representing the Auburn University Bass Fishing Club on any social media programs, including but not limited to YouTube, Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook or Instagram.

The governing bodies of your sport and fellow SEC schools will be notified of this suspension and that the Auburn University Bass Fishing Club is not eligible for competition during this timeframe. Anyone disregarding this notice will be referred to the Auburn University Student Conduct Office on an individual basis. Club members who ignore this suspension could also jeopardize the length of the club’s suspension.”

The club team has been extremely successful, being named “one of the most storied college fishing programs in the sport’s history,” according to Wired2Fish.com.
