2022 Palmer Cup: Team International holds slight lead over Team USA after first round

The teams are separated by just a point heading into Saturday.

This year’s Arnold Palmer Cup is being played at Golf Club de Genéve in Switzerland, and the home team got off to a fast start.

Team International jumped out to a 6½ to 5½ lead over Team USA after the opening 12 matches on Friday.

The American side won the first two matches of the day, but the internationals won the next three to take the lead. The pair of Julia Lopez Ramirez and Mateo Fernández de Oliveira grabbed one of the wins for Team International 1 up.

“We only wanted one thing, and that’s to bring the points home. Luckily we did that here on 18,” said Fernández de Oliveira, who is the first Argentinian to participate in the Palmer Cup.
