Army at Cincinnati: Three things to know
1. Cincinnati QB Desmond Ridder is a third-year starter who has tossed 42 career touchdown passes. But the UC passing offense vs. South Florida pass defense may take a back seat to how the two foes line up in the run game. USF has been gashed for 713 yards (5.2 yards per attempt) over its first two games.
2. South Florida has an even mark after playing one unlosable game (Sept. 12 vs. Citadel) and one unwinnable one (Sept. 19 at Notre Dame). The Bulls were slated to play Florida Atlantic last week, but the game was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns and protocols on the South Florida side. Bulls HC Jeff Scott indicated he expects some players to be out this week due to testing and contact tracing.
3. Cincinnati squeaked by USF 20-17 on the road last season but didn’t cover the 11.5-point spread. The Bearcats scored all of their points in the second half and were held to just 278 total yards in the three-point win.

South Florida at Cincinnati: Odds, betting lines and picks
Prediction
Cincinnati 35, South Florida 10
Money line (ML)
PASS. Prices much past 250 usually have enough juice where only a wildly inaccurate line will fall outside the tag at either end.
Against the spread (ATS)
The Bearcats were solid on both sides of the ball in last week’s 24-10 win over Army. Playing Army, Navy, or Air Force involves a different brand of football, and there is some carryover effect Over the last two seasons, teams are 20-12 ATS in the game following a game against a service academy.
UC’s first-down defense and tackling has been tremendous. Against a Bulls offense that has scuffled in producing on first downs, there is a good deal of potential here for an early multiscore lead and a boat race.
The tag here is sizable, but peg this one as a MODERATE LEAN ON THE BEARCATS.
Over/Under (O/U)
The Under is 8-1 in the Bearcats’ last nine home games. The low side is also 5-1 in UC’s last six games as a favorite. That’s the lean here. Back the UNDER 46.
