Lonzo Ball’s search for a new brand after his departure from Big Baller Brand may go to an unexpected location. The lack of reports linking Ball to a brand could be due in part to Ball creating his own brand.
On Sunday’s episode of “Ball in the Family,” Ball reveals he has been working on his own apparel line titled ApolloZo. He cites the success of his ZO2 line with Big Baller Brand as inspiration for him to create his own brand.
The episode, though, hinges on the fact Lonzo will have to break the news to his father, LaVar, that he is creating his own line. As has been previously noted, LaVar didn’t take well to LaMelo leaving Big Baller Brand for Puma.
However, LaVar not only doesn’t have the angry reaction to Lonzo leaving the brand as he did with LaMelo, he actually encourages his eldest son.
Here’s the entirety of the scene from the episode:
While Lonzo does introduce the brand in the episode, a quick Google search of ApolloZo does not return any hits and Lonzo himself has not mentioned it. In fact, the latest report included a quote from Lonzo himself indicating he is searching for a brand to join with no mention of ApolloZo.
Given the episode was shot multiple months in the past, it seems ApolloZo may not have launched as expected. It could also still be an idea Ball is hanging on to that may be a part of his new deal with a brand.
What it does confirm, though, is that Ball is finished working with Big Baller Brand, an unsurprising conclusion.
