Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson finishes 4th in AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year voting

Baltimore Ravens All-Pro quarterback Lamar Jackson finished fourth in the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year voting

Lamar Jackson may win the AP NFL MVP award, but Christian McCaffrey was voted the best offensive player.

The 49ers star logged 39 first-place votes, 32 more than Tyreek Hill, as he ran away with the Associated Press NFL Offensive Player of the Year Award.

In what could be described as a shock, Jackson finished fourth, logging three first-place votes and 32 overall.

McCaffrey is also a finalist for AP NFL Most Valuable Player, the top award in the land, thanks to a 2023 season in which he led the NFL in touches, scrimmage yards, and scrimmage touchdowns, and posted a career-high 1,459 rushing yards.

Jackson, the 2019 NFL MVP, threw for 3,678 yards and 24 touchdowns and ran for 821 yards and five scores. He helped the Baltimore Ravens (14-4) finish with the best record in the league and led them to a playoff win over Houston.

Jackson received 45 of 50 votes for AP first-team All-Pro.

Justin Jefferson wins AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year

There wasn’t anyone more deserving of Offensive Player of the Year than Justin Jefferson

The Minnesota Vikings finished the season 13-4 and the accolades came in hot and heavy with six Pro Bowl and three All-Pro selections. On Thursday, they got to add another one to the trophy case as wide receiver Justin Jefferson was named NFL Offensive Player of the Year.

Jefferson becomes the third Viking to win the award with Adrian Peterson (2012) and Fran Tarkenton (1975).

Jefferson ran away with the award and it’s easy to see why. He led the league in both receptions (128) and yards (1,804) while also having eight touchdowns. He won NFC offensive player of the week after his performance against the Buffalo Bills in week 10 where he made arguably the greatest catch in both team and NFL history.

The voting wasn’t even close either, as Jefferson accumulated 35 of the 50 first-place votes with second-place Patrick Mahomes only receiving 10.

Jefferson is a finalist for the AP NFL Most Valuable Player later on Thursday night but that award is more likely to go to Mahomes.

Justin Jefferson named finalist for AP Offensive Player of the Year

Jefferson was the best wide receiver in the NFL this season

The Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver has won a litany of awards this season and he has a chance to add to his repertoire as Justin Jefferson was named a finalist for the Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year award.

He is joined by Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.

Jefferson was one leg short from winning the wide receiver triple crown this season, as he led the NFL in both receptions with 128 and receiving yards with 1,804. His competition for the award is stiff and Jefferson’s sub-par statistical performances from the final two games won’t give him any sort of advantage.

The award will be presented at the NFL Honors during Super Bowl Week on Thursday, February 9th.

Rams Cooper Kupp honored as AP Offensive Player of the Year

Cooper Kupp beat out two great QBs for the AP Offensive Player of the Year award

He was up against Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. Nothing has stopped Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams this NFL season and neither did the great quarterbacks.

The Rams’ wide receiver extraordinaire was named AP Offensive Player of the Year at NFL Honors on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Kupp won the receiving Triple Crown. He had 1,947 receiving yards, 145 receptions, and 16 touchdowns.

No matter how teams tried to cover him, the wideout from Eastern Washington got open and gained yards after the catch.

Pretty good for a third-round pick from an FCS school.

Now he sets his sights on a ring Sunday as the Rams face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday at SoFi Stadium.
