Antonio Branch Jr. flips commitment from Penn State to Colorado

After visiting Boulder over the weekend, Antonio Branch Jr. is no longer a Penn State commit

Two days after witnessing Colorado football’s thrilling overtime win against Baylor at Folsom Field, weekend visitor Antonio Branch Jr. announced his commitment to the Buffs on Monday morning.

Branch, a class of 2025 defensive back, had been committed to Penn State since mid-June, but his trip to Boulder was seemingly enough to flip his pledge.

“It felt like home to me,” Branch told 247Sports. “Why not get coached by the best to do it?”

The 6-foot-2, 172-pound prospect from Miami was, of course, referencing Colorado head coach Deion Sanders, who now holds eight class of 2025 commitments. Within those eight, Branch and four-star safety Alex Graham represent the only defensive backs.

The 247Sports composite tabs Branch as a three-star prospect and the No. 40 safety in his class. ESPN and On3’s industry ranking both consider Branch a four-star prospect, however.

According to Branch’s X (formerly Twitter) timeline, Colorado extended him an offer earlier this month.

Miami safety to visit Nebraska during spring game

The Huskers continue add to their spring game guest list.

Nebraska continues to emphasize recruiting in South Florida. The Huskers will host Miami safety Antonio Branch Jr. for the annual Red-White game.

Branch is a three-star prospect for Miami Northwestern. He also currently holds offers from Auburn, Florida State, Miami, and Michigan.

The safety told 247Sports that he would be visiting Nebraska for the first time with his mother and sister. The Huskers currently hold five commitments to the class of 2025, including Tyson Terry, Caden VerMaas, Conor Boother, Jackson Carpenter, and Bryson Hayes.

Tigers offer 2025 cornerback out of Florida

Auburn has now offered 30 recruits from the 2025 class.

No recruiting class is too far out, and coach [autotag]Bryan Harsin[/autotag] is on the trail for the long haul.

Miami corner Antonio Branch Jr. announced on Twitter that he had received a preliminary offer from Harsin and Auburn on Friday. Branch is a 2025 prospect out of Miami, Florida, and because his class is so far out he is currently unranked on 247Sports and other recruiting websites. So far, Branch has offers from home-state schools of Florida State, Miami and UCF — Auburn is the first out-of-state school to shoot an offer Branch’s way.

Despite the class being so far out, the Tigers have been surprisingly busy for the 2025 circuit. While Branch is only the second corner that the Tigers have offered, Auburn has put out 30 offers to 2025 prospects across the board. Of course, none of them have committed yet, but the dedication that far out into the future is certainly a statement for the coaching staff and the program.

Branch stands at 6’2″, 172 pounds and currently plays for Booker T. Washington High School in Miami.
