Colts injury report: Anthony Castonzo a full participant

Thursday’s injury report.

The Indianapolis Colts (9-4) released their injury report on Thursday as they prepare for the Week 15 matchup against the Houston Texans (4-9) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

While the Wednesday injury report had a number of players listed as non-participants, Thursday’s was very different. Only two players didn’t practice and one of which was due to injury. The Colts seem to be near full health entering the weekend.

Here’s a look at the injury report for the Colts following Thursday’s practice:

Notes

  • LB Darius Leonard and CB Xavier Rhodes were full participants for the second day in a row.
  • LT Anthony Castonzo and QB Philip Rivers returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday. That appears to be just a precaution.
  • P Rigoberto Sanchez was a full participant again, suggesting he has a strong chance to play on Sunday.
  • DT DeForest Buckner was limited after practicing in full on Wednesday. His status should be monitored when the injury designations come out Friday.

The Colts have one more practice before they host the Texans on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Colts injury report: Rigoberto Sanchez returns to practice

Wednesday’s injury report.

The Indianapolis Colts (9-4) released their first injury report of the week as they prepare for the Week 15 matchup with the Houston Texans (4-9) at Lucas Oil Stadium.

All things considered, the opening injury report looks encouraging for the Colts. What’s a bit surprising is the fact that punter Rigoberto Sanchez was a full participant for the first time since undergoing a procedure to remove a cancerous tumor.

Here’s a look at the injury report for the Colts on Wednesday:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

  • Sanchez has a chance to play on Sunday for the first time since undergoing the procedure.
  • LB Darius Leonard and CB Xavier Rhodes seem to be good to go after suffering their respective injuries during the Week 14 win over the Raiders.
  • QB Philip Rivers didn’t practice, which has been the case ever since he suffered his toe injury in Week 11.

Colts injury report: Anthony Castonzo returns to practice

Thursday’s injury report.

The Indianapolis Colts (8-4) were on the practice field Thursday as they prepare to hit the road in Week 14 for a late afternoon matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders (7-5) at Allegiant Stadium.

The offense got some encouraging news as left tackle Anthony Castonzo seemingly returned to practice. He is officially listed as a limited participant on Thursday. That’s crucial for his chances to play on Sunday against the Raiders.

Here’s a look at the injury report on Thursday:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

Name Position Injury Wed. Thur. Fri. Status
Denico Autry DE Rest DNP FP

Notes

  • Castonzo returned to practice, which bodes well for his status for Sunday. It’s still up in the air whether he will play.
  • S Khari Willis and DT Tyquan Lewis both practiced Thursday after missing on Wednesday. That’s encouraging as the weekend approaches.
  • LB Bobby Okereke was able to practice again on Thursday. He could be making his return this week.

The Colts have one more practice Friday before the injury designations come out ahead of the Week 14 matchup.

Colts’ Anthony Castonzo (knee) spotted at practice

Anthony Castonzo could be making his return.

The Indianapolis Colts may be getting some reinforcements on the offensive line this week as left tackle Anthony Castonzo was spotted at practice on Thursday.

The veteran left tackle hasn’t practiced since suffering an MCL sprain in Week 12. He was inactive for the game against the Houston Texans and even though the Colts came out with the win, they surely missed his presence on the left side.

And even though the week opened with doubt that he would play on Sunday, the news of him showing up at practice bodes well for his status in Week 14.

Castonzo is likely to be a limited participant on Thursday’s injury report, but there is a good chance he makes his return as long as there is no setback. At worst, this could mean Castonzo returns fully for the Week 15 rematch against the Texans.

The Colts put Le’Raven Clark on the injured reserve list, which means Chaz Green is the only healthy option at left tackle if Castonzo can’t play.

There is still a full day of practice left for the week and while nothing is official, it seems Castonzo is trending in the right direction to make his return soon.

In a game that should have plenty of implications when it comes to the AFC playoff picture, the Colts are hoping they can be near full strength for the Sunday afternoon matchup against the Raiders

Here’s a look at the injury report for the Colts on Wednesday:

*DNP = Did Not Participate — LP = Limited Participant — FP = Full Participant*

Name Position Injury Wed. Thur. Fri. Status
Denico Autry DE Rest DNP
Trey Burton TE Rest DNP

Rigoberto Sanchez P Illness DNP
Khari Willis S Back/Quad DNP
Bobby Okereke LB Ankle LP
Braden Smith OT Groin LP
Kemoko Turay DE Ankle LP

Notes

  • LT Anthony Castonzo continues to deal with an MCL sprain. He didn’t open the week with practice and is in doubt for Sunday’s game unless he can log some sort of practice.
  • LB Bobby Okereke returned to practice for the first time in a few weeks. He has missed the last two games due to an ankle injury.
  • DE/DT Tyquan Lewis appears to be nursing a new hip injury. His status will be something to watch as the week progresses.
  • The Colts placed OT Le’Raven Clark on the injured reserve list with a torn Achilles.

The Colts have two more practices before the final injury report with desigantions comes out on Friday.

Texans vs. Colts final injury report: RB C.J. Prosise, FB Cullen Gillaspia out

The Houston Texans released their final injury report for Week 13 against the Indianapolis Colts, and RB C.J. Prosise and FB Cullen Gillaspia are out.

The Houston Texans released their last injury report as the club gears up to play the Indianapolis Colts Sunday at 12:00 p.m. CT at NRG Stadium.

Fullback Cullen Gillaspia (back) and running back C.J. Prosise (illness) did not practice all week. They have been declared out for the game.

Defensive tackle Ross Blacklock (illness) did not practice all week until Friday, and he was limited at that. The club has placed a questionable designation for the second-round rookie from TCU.

Punter Bryan Anger (right quad) and safety Lonnie Johnson (knee) had full participation for the first time all week. Neither received a designation for Sunday, which means they should be a full go.

The Colts declared safety Khari Willis (back/quad), punter Rigoberto Sanchez (illness), linebacker Bobby Okereke (ankle), and offensive tackle Anthony Castonzo (knee) out for the game.

Defensive lineman Denico Autry (illness), defensive tackle DeForest Buckner (illness), and quarterback Philip Rivers (toe) were full participants in Friday’s practice and none of them received a designation for Sunday’s game.
