Notre Dame football flips former USF athlete commitment

Freeman got his spatula out

While it has been a bit slow for Notre Dame football on the recruiting end of the 2025 class, it came to an abrupt end on Tuesday afternoon.

The Irish flipped former USF athlete commit [autotag]Antavious Richardson[/autotag], who had been committed to the Bulls since June. The 6-foot and 175-pound Georgia native is ranked as the nation’s No. 438 overall prospect and 24th rated athlete according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Richardson was offered by Notre Dame about two weeks ago, as earlier in the month Alabama came forward with an offer as well. Many of his top offers came after his commitment, showing everyone that he was a flying under many schools radars.

It’s hard to get a read on where he will line up for Notre Dame, as he played quarterback, running back and safety for his high school team. Richardson is also a track star, as he was the state champion last year in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

The commitment is No. 23 for the Irish, in a class that ranks as the No. 10 group according to the 247Sports Composite Team rankings.

According to a report, Notre Dame will host two huge visitors this weekend

Big news for the Irish 2025 recruiting class

In-season recruiting is in full swing, and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football program is trying to take advantage of its home game environment.

The Irish will host Miami (OH) this weekend, their second game of the year in Notre Dame Stadium. With that multiple prospects will be in-house for the game, two of them being priority recruits.

Washington athlete [autotag]T’Andre Waverly[/autotag] and Georgia athlete [autotag]Antavious Richardson[/autotag] will be visiting the Irish this weekend according to a report by 247Sports Tom Loy. Richardson is currently committed to South Florida, but that was before multiple big time programs offered which include Notre Dame.

He’s ranked as the country’s No. 437 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite, while Waverly is the No. 385 player in the same rankings. The Washington native had a great frame at 6-foot, 4–inches and 225-pounds, as he could play either tight end or split out wide as a receiver. As for Richardson, he stands 6-foot and weighs 175-pounds who is viewed as more of a defensive back.

Both prospects are highly considering the Irish, and getting them on campus is great new for Notre Dame.

Alabama extends offer to USF commit, 2025 3-star ATH Antavious Richardson

The Alabama coaching staff hosted 2025 three-star athlete Antavious Richardson for a visit this past weekend. Following the visit, Richardson added an offer from the Crimson Tide.

The Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff extended an offer to 2025 three-star athlete Antavious Richardson on Sunday. Richardson was in Tuscaloosa this past weekend for a visit.

The native of Greenville, Georgia is committed to South Florida. He has been committed to the Bulls since June 24. Richardson had 1,009 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns last season for the Patriots. In addition, he tallied 54 tackles and four tackles for loss.

Richardson has fielded recent offers from the North Carolina Tar Heels, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Duke Blue Devils, and Louisville Cardinals. Despite Alabama extending the most recent offer, there is still optimism on Alabama’s end that they can flip his commitment. It would not be much of a surprise if Richardson is in Tuscaloosa yet again this weekend for Alabama’s matchup against South Florida.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest regarding the Alabama football program and its recruiting efforts.

Notre Dame offers 2025 USF athlete commit, as it waits for the recruiting dominoes

Is this the first real sign that the Irish aren’t confident about Knight’s commitment?

The [autotag]Deuce Knight[/autotag] saga continues for Notre Dame football. Multiple analysts believe he will flip to either Ole Miss or Auburn.

The Mississippi native has a visit to the Tigers scheduled during the first weekend of the season. At this point, it wouldn’t make much sense for Notre Dame to bank on him staying in the class, so other moves had to be made.

The first sign the Irish aren’t too confident in Knight’s pledge came on Friday, when an offer went out to 2025 Georgia native [autotag]Antavious Richardson[/autotag].

The 6-foot 175-pounder could play at either quarterback or the secondary. He committed to South Florida in June, but North Carolina, Duke and now Notre Dame offered this month. That is plenty for the unranked quarterback to think about, and we will see how serious Richardson is when considering a flip to the Irish.
