The Kentucky Wildcats football team continues to build its roster, and added offensive lineman Anfernee Crease on Monday. He announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that he was joining the Wildcats.
Crease is a massive offensive tackle, measuring in at 6’8″ and 310 lbs. He played at the junior college level for Navarro College, and was planning to transfer to SMU. After hearing from Kentucky, however, he decided to come to Lexington instead.
The decision came after a visit to the Wildcats and taking in the Kentucky Spring Game. He was recruited by UK offensive line coach Eric Wolford.
A good offensive line is much needed for the 2024 season. With a new quarterback and a new set of running backs, protection and blocking will be key to getting the offense going. Depth was required, especially at the tackle position, and Crease gives them more of that.
The new Wildcats has three years remaining of his eligibility, and the hope is that he can develop into an eventual starter at tackle. Meanwhile, Kentucky will continue to look to add offensive line pieces in the coming weeks.
