Kentucky football picks up a commitment from three-star cornerback

Three star cornerback Andrew Purcell committed to Kentucky football on Monday.

Just a day after getting a commitment from three-star wide receiver Ja’kayden Ferguson, Kentucky football has added another quality player in cornerback Andrew Purcell. This is in addition to the recent pickup of offensive tackle Darrin Strey.

Purcell is rated three stars by 247sports and is their 24th ranked athlete in the 2025 class. He’s also their 18th ranked player in the state of Alabama, and inside the top 500 players in the country.

Mark Stoops and his staff have targeted multiple defensive backs while recruiting for the 2025 class. They previously added safety Martels Carter, and are still targeting other players to add to the secondary. Purcell is a big addition for the Wildcats as they address the position.

Purcell had interest from several other schools, including some of Kentucky’s SEC opponents. The Georgia Bulldogs, Clemson Tigers, and Tennessee Volunteers are among the schools to extend offers to him, and he took a visit to Georgia recently.

The 2025 class is coming together nicely thus far for Coach Stoops and the Wildcats. They also still have some visits scheduled for this month, and will certainly look to add to the group. Andrew Purcell is a great addition, and hopefully more will come soon.
