The Irish’s relationship with the ACC is strong, so much that last year during the pandemic 2020 season, Notre Dame joined up for the first time in their illustrious history. Every year the Irish tend to schedule more ACC teams than any other conference.
This year was no different, already having already played Florida State, Virginia Tech, and North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia Tech remaining. Today, 247Sports came out with the Top-25 teams remaining toughest game, and they selected Virginia for the Irish.
The rationale from Austin Nivison was pretty simple, saying “the Tar Heels have been disappointing, and the Cardinal (Stanford) has been a middling PAC-12 team.” All that left is Virginia.
Is Nivison correct? He may be and we will certainly find out, but it does the Irish no good to look head of UNC this weekend. Take care of business each week and go 1-0, and the Irish will put themselves in a very good position come the end of the year. But really, which team scares you the most whose left on Notre Dame schedule?
