New Bears HC Matt Eberflus continues to fill out his coaching staff, which included three new additions on Thursday.

New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus continues to fill out his coaching staff, which included three new additions on Thursday.

The Bears announced the hirings of Andrew Janocko as quarterbacks coach, Tyke Tolbert as wide receivers coach and David Overstreet II as assistant defensive backs coach.

Tolbert is considered one of the NFL’s best wide receivers coaches while Janocko got the best out of quarterback Kirk Cousins during his time in Minnesota. Overstreet follows Eberflus from Indianapolis, where he also served as assistant defensive backs coach.

Janocko, Tolbert and Overstreet join a coaching staff that also includes Luke Getsy as offensive coordinator, Alan Williams as defensive coordinator, Dave Borgonzi as linebackers coach and Chris Morgan as offensive line coach.

Here’s a look at the coaching staff Eberflus has assembled so far, which will be updated as hirings are announced:

Vikings quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko joining the rival Bears

Andrew Janocko is joining the rival Bears.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins won’t only have a new head coach and offensive coordinator in 2022, but he’ll also have a new quarterbacks coach with Andrew Janocko leaving the team.

Per the Star Tribune’s Ben Goessling, the former Vikings quarterbacks coach is “expected to take the same job” with the rival Chicago Bears. So instead of working with Cousins, he’ll be trying to help with the development of rookie first-round draft pick Justin Fields.

Janocko’s work within the Vikings organization stems all the way back to 2015, when he was working as an offensive quality control coach. He was also an assistant offensive line coach and wide receivers coach before eventually earning the title of quarterback whisperer.

It isn’t so much a problem of Janocko leaving as it is with him joining the Bears. That’s a tough pill to swallow for Vikings fans, especially if Fields has any dramatic improvements in 2022 and beyond.

Janocko joins former Vikings offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and special teams coach Ryan Ficken as assistants moving on to other jobs.

It’s the nature of the business for a team underdoing a massive facelift right now.

Report: Bears are hiring Andrew Janocko as quarterbacks coach

The Bears continue to fill out their coaching staff, adding Andrew Janocko as quaterbacks coach.

New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is busy assembling his coaching staff, which has featured some highly respected names from around the NFL.

After hiring offensive coordinator Luke Getsy and defensive coordinator Alan Williams among others, the Bears have finally found their quarterbacks coach for Justin Fields.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears are expected to hire Andrew Janocko as quarterbacks coach. Janocko served in the same role with the Vikings last season.

But Janocko’s experience extends beyond coaching quarterbacks. He’s also coached wide receivers (2020) and offensive line (2017-19) during his time in Minnesota, which gives him a plethora of offensive coaching experience.

Together with Getsy, Janocko will be responsible for developing Fields.

Aside from Getsy, Williams and now Janocko, the Bears have also hired Dave Borgonzi as linebackers coach, Chris Morgan as offensive line coach and Tyke Tolbert as wide receivers coach.

Here’s a look at the coaching staff Eberflus has assembled so far, which will be updated as hirings and reports are announced:

Bears interviewing Joe Brady for job on Matt Eberflus’ coaching staff

The Bears are interviewing former Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady for a position on their coaching staff.

New Bears head coach Matt Eberflus is busy assembling his coaching staff, which includes some familiar faces from his time with the Colts and some well-known names across the NFL.

With the importance of Justin Fields’ development, assembling the offensive coaching staff is of vital importance. And it sounds like Chicago is nearing another hire.

According to SI’s Albert Breer, the Bears are interviewing former Panthers offensive coordinator Joe Brady for a position on Eberflus’ coaching staff.

Given Luke Getsy has already been hired as offensive coordinator, Brady would appear to be interviewing for either the quarterbacks coach or wide receivers coach.

Brady was the wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator at LSU when they won the National Championship in 2019. He previously served as the offensive coordinator in Carolina from 2020-21, and he was fired last December.

Someone else who’s garnered some attention for quarterbacks coach in Minnesota’s Andrew Janocko, who Brad Biggs named as someone to watch. If the Bears hired Brady as receivers coach and passing game coordinator, perhaps they’d bring in Janocko to work with Fields.

With the recent hirings and promotions, see the Vikings’ offensive coaching staff

See what the Minnesota Vikings have done with its coaching staff in the offseason heading into the 2021 NFL season.

The Vikings have entered into a whirlwind offseason, one that should be filled with plenty of changes in the front office, roster makeup and coaching staff.

Minnesota has made some of those changes already. The Vikings have reportedly promoted Klint Kubiak to offensive coordinator. Previously, Kubiak was the team’s quarterbacks coach for the past two seasons. He replaces his father, Gary, who was Minnesota’s offensive coordinator in 2020.

That’s not the only change. The Vikings have also reportedly switched wide receivers coach Andrew Janocko to being the team’s quarterbacks coach, to fill the void left by Klint Kubiak.

Those changes can make the current Minnesota staff difficult to keep up with. Here is the full offensive staff at the moment (as Chad Graff of The Athletic first pointed out):

Report: Vikings’ WRs coach Andrew Janocko expected to become QBs coach

The Minnesota Vikings have reportedly move former wide receivers coach, Andrew Janocko, to quarterbacks coach.

Despite having a wide receivers coach already on staff, Minnesota hired another one: Keenan McCardell, as Eugene Frenette of The Florida Times-Union reported.

Now, that move makes sense. Former wide receivers coach Andrew Janocko is moving to quarterbacks coach for Minnesota, according to reports from multiple outlets. That move comes after Klint Kubiak, formerly the Vikings’ QBs coach, was reportedly hired to be the team’s offensive coordinator.

Gary Kubiak, the Vikings’ offensive coordinator in 2020 and Klint’s father, retired this offseason, so the team had to find its sixth offensive coordinator in the Mike Zimmer era.

After Minnesota hired McCardell, the team elected to keep it in-house for the quarterback coach and offensive coordinator positions. These hires are a sign of continuity for an offense that’s coming off a pretty good year. It remains to be seen what the Vikings add and what they keep from 2020 as the team tries to bounce back in 2021.
