Andrew Hawkins (jokingly?) calls Troy Polamalu a “bully” with video evidence

Former Cleveland Browns receiver Andrew Hawkins has quickly become a media star. Today he (jokingly?) calls former Pittsburgh Steelers great Troy Polamalu a “bully” and shows video evidence.

Former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins has become a media superstar in a very short amount of time since retiring from the NFL. Today, in what clearly is presented as a joke, he replied to a Pittsburgh Steelers tweet by calling former Steelers great Troy Polamalu a bully.

As shown in the video below, Hawkins played against Polamalu a lot in his career. Polamalu played for the Steelers his entire career while Hawkins played with Cleveland after three years in Cincinnati.

Polamalu was a hard-hitting safety who also had the range to make plays in the passing game at times as well. He and Ed Reed helped define the position throughout much of the early 2000s.

Unfortunately for Hawkins, that included a few vicious hits on the diminutive receiver which he put up along with the word “bully” in all capital letters when the Steelers asked for one word to describe Polamalu:

Hawkins’s foray into media includes his time with Joe Thomas on the ThomaHawk Show as well as a number of humorous videos. One of which came out shortly after The Last Dance started airing where Hawkins mimicked some of the players from the show:

While his time with the Browns was brief, just three seasons, Hawkins will always be beloved by the fans. Today’s video response is just another reason why.

Andrew Hawkins and son star in new Oprah short film

Former Cleveland Browns WR Andrew Hawkins and his son released an inspirational short film with the Oprah Network called “These Hands.”

Andrew Hawkins best season in the NFL came with the Cleveland Browns in 2014. The diminutive receiver caught 63 passes for 824 yards and two touchdowns after signing a free-agent contract to come over from the Cincinnati Bengals.

Hawk, as he was affectionately known, played three seasons with the Browns with 123 receptions for over 1,400 yards. Hawkins also played 35 games for the Bengals early in his career.

At 5’7″ with a smaller frame, Hawkins’s journey to the NFL and success is a story of hard work, dedication, and great short-area quickness.

Since retiring from the NFL after a very short stop in New England, Hawkins started the ThomaHawk Podcast with Browns great Joe Thomas. Both have since parlayed their podcast success into successful broadcasting careers.

Today, the Oprah Network premiered a short film of Hawkins with his son called “These Hands.” An inspirational message to kids that they can be anything:

This is not the first time that Hawkins has made a fun video with his son. Years ago we got this hilarious gem:

It is clear that Hawkins has big plans in the media world. Partnering with Oprah to release “These Hands” is a sign that the media world is buying what Andrew Hawkins is selling.

As he noted in his tweet, Hawk really hopes you “vibe with the message.”

Former Browns WR Andrew Hawkins wins an Academy Award

Former Browns WR Andrew Hawkins wins an Academy Award as the executive producer of Hair Love

Congratulations to former Cleveland Browns wide receiver Andrew Hawkins! On Sunday night, “Hawk” won an Academy Award for producing the animated short, “Hair Love”.

Hawkins was an executive producer of the film, directed by Matthew Cherry, who is also a former NFL wide receiver after starring at that position at the University of Akron. The award-winning film deals with the travails of an African-American father trying to do his daughter’s hair for the first time.

Hawkins played for the Browns from 2014-2016 and was a fan favorite during his time. He also co-hosts the Thomahawk podcast with former teammate Joe Thomas. It is his first Oscar.

Hair Love runs just over six minutes and it’s a lot of fun:

Ex-NFL player hilariously spoofs all the different ways players dress up for games

The two different versions of Russell Wilson are too funny.

Fashion and player arrivals at arenas/stadiums have become big things in sports over the years. It gives many athletes a chance to show off a different side of them, or a side we very well could have predicted (hello, Eli Manning).

NFL players love to get dressed up on game days and make a statement hours before they take their field. There are many ways to do this, too – from Tom Brady wearing a big hat or the Houston Texans linebackers showing up in wild costumes.

Well, former NFL player Andrew Hawkins took all of this into account when he made a hilarious spoof video of all the different looks you can see before games. From “The guy who thinks he is way too important” to “The Travis Kelce” and “The guy trying to walk beside the star QB.” this video is pretty brilliant.

But the best part is the final look, when he shows two different versions of Russell Wilson – before and after he met Ciara. It’s fantastic.

Sit back and enjoy:

Wilson saw it and loved it, too:

Well freakin done.
