Arkansas lands former Eastern Michigan tight end out of portal

Arkansas’ depth at tight end will be some of the best in the SEC next season.

One area Arkansas should have few worries heading into the 2024 season is tight end.

Freshman All-American Luke Hasz will be recovered from his broken collarbone. Ty Washington announced his return last week. And Sunday, the Hogs landed another tight end out of the transfer portal when former Eastern Michigan’s Andreas Paaske committed to Arkansas.

Paaske should provide depth to a unit that already has a star in Hasz and a well-established No. 2 in Washington. It’s unlikely Paaske will overtake those two players, however. He caugh 14 passes for 243 yards and two touchdowns for the Eagles in his two seasons.

Former Arkansas offensive lineman Hjalte Froholdt helped convince Paaske to head to Fayetteville. Both are natives of Denmark.

Froholdt was a defensive tackle when he arrived to Arkansas but moved to offensive line after his first season, eventually becoming an All-SEC guard. He was taken in the fourth round of the 2019 of the NFL Draft and has been a starter for Arizona Cardinals in 13 games this season.
