Andre White Jr. is entering his senior year with the Aggies as the starting Mike linebacker and will be looked to take on one of the select leadership roles on a youthful defense that will need guidance outside of the coaching staff. Before joining Texas A&M in 2019, White Jr. enjoyed an illustrious playing career at Harrisburg High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, having his best statistical season during his 2018 senior year, tallying 132 total tackles, 3 sacks, and 12 tackles for loss, leaving the program as one of the more productive players in school history, rivaling former Harrisburg alum and current Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons. White committed to the Aggies in April. 27, 2018, and saw the field early in his time in College Station, playing in 11 games, accounting for 15 total tackles, 2 sacks, and 2.5 tackles for loss as a true freshman. During the shortened 2020 season, White Jr. appeared in all 10 games, playing a vital rotational role at linebacker and on special teams, and make his first career start for Texas A&M in the Orange Bowl against North Carolina, garnering 8 tackles and his first career interception. White Jr.’s 2021 junior season saw his responsibility as an every-down linebacker begin to take shape, making 9 starts in 12 games played, making 57 total tackles on the year, including 8 tackles in the win against then No. 1 ranked Alabama in one of the biggest upsets of the year.

Depth Chart Overview
Andre White Jr. (Senior) is currently projected as the starting Mike Linebacker for Texas A&M in the Aggies’ 4-2-5 defensive scheme, led by the first-year defensive coordinator, D.J. Durkin. White Jr. is paired with starting Will linebacker, Edgerrin Cooper (Sophomore), with rotational linebackers Chris Russell Jr. (Senior) and Tarien Lee Jr. (Redshirt Junior) serving as the primary backups. Andre White Jr. is everything you want in a field general from a trait perspective and with a 230lb frame with long arms and a closing burst that makes him a threat in blitz packages on any down, NFL scouts will be keeping an eye on his continued to develop during his last season in College Station. With athleticism at the linebacker position becoming more important as the game continues to change, White Jr.’s coverage ability, fluid change of direction, and sideline to sideline ability will be vital when facing the offensive threats that SEC teams will field week in and week out.
