The Texas A&M Basketball program led by head coach Buzz Williams is coming off an emotional roller coaster of a season after questionably missing out on the NCAA tournament, and losing the NIT tournament championship by a single point. When the offseason began, the program lost guards Hassan Diarra and Aaron Cash to the transfer portal, paired with the loss of star guard Quenton Jackson to graduation.

However, things started to look up for the Aggies on Monday as the team added a huge transfer portal addition to the program in small forward Andersson Garcia, the 6’7″ 210lb transfer from Mississippi State, and native of Moca, Dominican Republic. Andersson will join Buzz Williams’ 2022 team along with power forward and Michigan State transfer Julius Marble, who also announced his plans to come to College Station on Monday.
During his final season at Mississippi State, Garcia averages 4.3 points and 4.2 rebounds a game, appearing in 33 games and averaging close to 15 minutes per contest.
Andersson brings depth and much-needed rebounding ability as well as two years of SEC experience on the hardwood, giving Buzz Williams another piece to the puzzle in his quest to finally reach the NCAA tournament in his fourth season with the program.
