Brad Perez to run partial schedule with Alpha Prime Racing in 2024

Brad Perez will return to Alpha Prime Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for a partial schedule and more in 2024.

[autotag]Alpha Prime Racing[/autotag] announced on Monday morning that Brad Perez will return to the organization for a partial schedule in 2024. Perez will drive the No. 45 Xfinity car at Circuit of the Americas, with future races and plans to be determined. The 26-year-old driver will also serve as the team’s development driver and assist in simulator setup.

In addition to these roles, Perez has been named the team’s official reserve driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Last year, Perez competed in five Xfinity Series races, with four coming in the No. 53 car for Emerling-Gase Motorsports and one in the No. 44 car for Alpha Prime Racing. He had a best finish of 19th place at Road America with the organization.

Perez doesn’t have much experience in NASCAR as a driver, with only 12 total races between the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Still, the Alpha Prime Racing driver is trying to make a name for himself, and this opportunity is his best yet. Perez will look to develop as a driver while helping the race team achieve its potential in 2024.

Alpha Prime Racing’s 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season in review

Alpha Prime Racing had an average year in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Here, you can check out the NASCAR team’s 2023 season in review!

[autotag]Alpha Prime Racing[/autotag] didn’t have a full-time driver for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, which didn’t result in much success overall. Ryan Ellis competed in 31 of 33 races during the Xfinity Series season and failed to record a top-10 finish. The only driver to finish in the top 10 spots was Caesar Bacarella at Talladega Superspeedway.

Several other drivers, such as Rajah Caruth, Stefan Parsons, and Jeffrey Earnhardt, competed with the organization, but none recorded any top-10 finishes. It wasn’t the best season for Alpha Prime Racing statistically, as they didn’t make as much progress. That task will be even harder with a deeper field next year.

In 2024, Brennan Poole will join the team on a full-time basis, while Ellis will become a full-time competitor as well. There haven’t been any other moves announced yet but the hope is that a bump in performance comes along with it. Alpha Prime Racing can attract talented drivers, but it hasn’t sustained top-10 success yet.

Brennan Poole joins Alpha Prime Racing in Xfinity Series for 2024

Alpha Prime Racing announced on Thursday afternoon that Brennan Poole will drive the No. 44 Xfinity car on a full-time basis in 2024.

[autotag]Alpha Prime Racing[/autotag] announced on Thursday afternoon that [autotag]Brennan Poole[/autotag] will drive the No. 44 Xfinity car on a full-time basis in 2024. Poole will join Ryan Ellis as a second full-time driver at the organization. In 2023, the 32-year-old piloted the No. 6 Xfinity car for JD Motorsports and finished the year with one top-5 finish and one top-10 finish.

Poole has been a journeyman in NASCAR ever since he lost his ride at Chip Ganassi Racing in the Xfinity Series. Since then, Poole has driven for multiple teams, primarily in the NASCAR Truck Series. Now, he will have the best opportunity in full-time equipment since his final season with Chip Ganassi Racing in 2017.

Overall, this is a great hire for Alpha Prime Racing as Poole has elevated the equipment of lower-tier teams over the last few seasons. Poole will replace Jeffrey Earnhardt in the No. 44 car and could bring the organization to new and better places. With the 2023 season done and over with, Poole will look forward to his new journey in NASCAR.
