I remember when the preseason Coaches Poll Top 25 came out just before the start of the 2000 season. The Huskers were the preseason #1, and I couldn’t have been more excited. But, of course, the Huskers finished the year with a 10-2 record and ranked 7th by the Coaches. It’s been some time since Nebraska was ranked in the preseason, and who knows when that might change.
College Football News created a scoring system to chart an All-time Top 25 based and previous preseason rankings going back to 1978. So let’s look and see who the Coaches Poll has given the most love to over the years.
