The Celtics were scheduled for an afternoon flight to Toronto and, it being Christmas Eve, players and coaches had plenty of loose ends to tie up before the holiday. Brown, even as his play this season has spawned some All-Star buzz, was in no rush to leave the practice facility. “I’m not really paying attention to [the All-Star buzz],” Brown said in an empty gym after his post-practice workout was finally complete. “It would be a blessing. It would be extremely dope to even be mentioned in the conversation. To be honest, I still think I can be a lot better. I think the best is yet to come for me this season.

With the shooting display Robinson has put on this season, a spot in the three-point contest during February’s NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago could be in his future. “Only just because people keep saying stuff to me about it,” Robinson said when asked if he has thought about the possibility of competing in the three-point contest. “It would be an honor, obviously. I’ve had that in my skill set my whole life. It would pretty surreal to be a part of it. But I try not to get too caught up in that and just focus on making shots and winning games.”

Spencer Dinwiddie points out why All-Star nod for him would be big for NBA

If Kobe Bryant’s comments about Spencer Dinwiddie weren’t enough, the Nets guard pointed out another reason he should be an All-Star.

The NBA All-Star voting polls opened up right before the first game on Christmas. Fans can participate until noon on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Since the Nets didn’t have a game on the holiday and Brooklyn’s next contest is at Barclays Center against the New York Knicks on Thursday, players were able to weigh in on everything happening throughout the holiday.

With the All-Star polls opening up, Spencer Dinwiddie decided it was the optimal time to point out a significant fact on Twitter that some fans might be unaware of:

I know [Milwaukee Bucks wing] Khris [Middleton] was the first All-Star to ever be a g league alumni. But would Dinwiddie #NBAVote be the first All-Star ever actually under contract as a G League player not just an assignment?

It’s about time he started campaigning for himself — to compliment his All-star level play — and not others.

Jerry West: So at the end of the day, …

Jerry West: So at the end of the day, we gave up three of our draft picks and a terrific young player in Shai, who I think we all feel horrible about. And Gallo (Gallinari), who is a very good player himself. Those are the difficult things, letting players go who you really like. I think Shai is going to be an All-Star player in this league for a long time, and he’ll keep getting better. But we have two finished products right in the prime of their careers (in Leonard and George) – or just getting in the prime of their careers. Two of them who have the same DNA – great offensive players, but more importantly really great defensive players. And I’m not talking about good defensive players, I’m talking about great defensive players. Those players decide games on both ends of the floor.
