Aidan Hutchinson headlines 4 Lions who made the All-NFC team from PFWA

The Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) announced the 2023 All-NFC team. The Detroit Lions, one of two remaining NFC teams in the playoffs, were well-represented on the list.

Four Lions earned All-NFC nods, led by DE Aidan Hutchinson. No. 97 joined San Francisco’s Nick Bosa on the all-conference team at end.

Two Detroit offensive players made the cut, too. Wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown and right tackle Penei Sewell also earned All-NFC honors. Sewell was the only Lions player to earn All-NFL status.

Special teams ace Jalen Reeves-Maybin earned his All-NFC nod for his work on the punt and kick units. The full team, from the PFWA press release:

In the spirit of disclosure, I am a PFWA voter and voted for all four Lions who earned All-NFC, as well as TE Sam LaPorta and P Jack Fox.

Football writers across the country voted on the best players at each position in the NFC. Here are those results.

The Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA) is comprised of writers that cover the NFL and 32 franchises across the country. Each year they vote on the best players in the league and each conference and announced their All-NFL, All-NFC and All-AFC teams.

Below is the All-NFC team, but no Arizona Cardinals player made the cut.

Lions shut out of PFWA’s All-NFC team

The Detroit Lions were shut out of PFWA’s All-NFC team

Finishing with the worst record in the conference as a team did not help any individual Detroit Lions earn a spot on the Pro Football Writers of America All-NFC team.

No Lions appeared on the honorary squad, which was released on Monday. Detroit also missed out on having any players make the All-NFL roster as voted upon by PFWA members. It was not an unexpected situation for no Lions to appear.
