Auburn’s Suni Lee was named the SEC Gymnast of the Week after her stellar performance against Georgia.
Lee led Auburn to their second-ever victory in Athens. She swept the event titles and won the all-around with a score of 39.775. She has competed in the all-around four times this season and won every one.
It was the first time an Auburn gymnast has swept the events since Caitlin Atkinson did so on March 11, 2016.
She opened the night with a 9.925 on bars, winning her sixth straight bars competition, before moving to the vault where she unveiled her new vault, the half-on front layout, which has never been done in NCAA gymnastics
She nailed it, earning a 9.925 and winning her first vault crown. She followed that up with a 9.95 on the floor, tieing her career-high.
To end her performances, she tied her career-best on beam with a 9.975. It was her third time winning beam this season.
Auburn will return to action Friday night when they host Kentucky in Auburn Arena. The meet will start at 6:30 p.m. CT and will be on the SEC Network.
