Celebrities dish on why they love golf, LPGA Tournament of Champions nerves and lessons learned from the best women in the world

ORLANDO — The Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions awards LPGA players who have hoisted trophies over the past two seasons. But it’s also billed as the biggest party on tour, with 56 celebrities playing alongside 29 LPGA pros. There’s a DJ next to the 18th green in the mega hospitality build, and nightly concerts are held in the shadow of the official player hotel.

This year there were 14 newcomers to the celebrity field, which features a blend of professional athletes and entertainers. Notables include past champions Mardy Fish (2021), Derek Lowe (2022) and John Smoltz (2019, 2020).

What an incredible day yesterday at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. Jordan Spieth had a day as he inches closer to the lead while Patrick Cantlay tied the course record on the first day of the tournament, we should have an incredible weekend of golf ahead of us.

Round 2 will begin on Friday with the round starting at 11:50 a.m. ET with live coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET on Friday. We’ll get to see beautiful Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill this afternoon.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am will begin on Thursday with Round 1, the round will start at 11:30 a.m. ET with live coverage beginning at 3 p.m. ET on Thursday. This will be the first time that this tournament will be all-pro, which is such a shame but it will give us a chance to see Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill in all their glory in beautiful California.

Bill Murray will be hamming it up at Pebble Beach after all.

The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am has announced the “AT&T Every Shot Counts Charity Challenge” to take place on Wednesday afternoon, with a $1.6 million fundraising goal for Monterey Peninsula Foundation charities.

Bill Murray, Larry Fitzgerald, Macklemore, Kira K. Dixon, Kathryn Newton and Alfonso Ribeiro will compete in a five-hole match-play event at Pebble Beach Golf Links. It will be televised live on Golf Channel and PGA Tour Live from 4-6 p.m. ET.

The celebrities will be divided into three two-person teams and will play a scramble on holes 1, 2, 3, 17 and 18. Hole Nos. 1 and 2 are worth $100,000, hole Nos. 3 and 17 are worth $150,000 and No. 18 is worth $500,000.

There will be no fans on site. All golfers will carry their own golf bags.

Steve Young, former San Francisco 49ers quarterback and a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, will be the official scorekeeper. Jim Nantz will serve as the event’s host.
