Even with the concerns over coronavirus the crowd is expected to be at full capacity for the game tonight, this may change over the next couple weeks but tonight they will be playing with fans in the stadium. The USA needs at least a win or a tie against Japan to win the championship at The 2020 SheBelieves Cup. This would also be their third Cup title in the last five tournaments that have been held.

The US Women have an all-time record of 28-1-8 against Japan and has scored 106 goals while only allowing 29. This will lead into our prediction below into a one-sided matchup with USA putting on a show for it’s fans at Toyota Stadium in Texas.

Prediction: Nobody has been able to stop the US Women this year in the SheBelieves Cup and I don’t see Japan being that team at this time, you have to stick with USWNT goaltender and offensive firepower in this match.

Pick: USA 4 Japan 0

As you’d expect, the U.S. waltzed effortlessly through the group stage, winning its three matches with a combined score of 18-0. Lindsey Horan led the way for the Americans with five goals, while Christen Press followed closely with four.

Mexico finished as runner-ups in Group B behind Canada. The country won its first two matches before falling 2-0 to Canada. Club Tijuana forward Renae Nicole Cuéllar scored four goals in the three matches to earn them a spot in this crucial semifinal.

Historically, the U.S. has held a massive advantage over Mexico in official women’s competitions. The USWNT will go into this match as heavy favorites. However, it’s not a foregone conclusion. Mexico beat the U.S. in 2011 World Cup qualifying to force the team into a playoff. While all signs point to an easy pathway to Tokyo, the Americans must not take their place for granted.
