The No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide will face their second top 10 team in the past three games when they visit Lexington to take on the No. 8 Kentucky Wildcats Saturday at Rupp Arena.
The Crimson Tide (14-3 overall, 3-1 SEC) and Wildcats (14-3, 3-1) are set for an 11 a.m. CT tipoff. The game can be seen on ESPN.
Earlier this week, ESPN announced broadcast assignments and commentator pairings for its weekly slate of college basketball games. The duo of Dan Shulman (play-by-play) and Jay Bilas (analyst) will have the TV call of Alabama vs. Kentucky at Rupp Arena.
It’s the first time this season that Shulman and Bilas will work an Alabama game. Shulman started at ESPN in 1995 and is one of the network’s highest-regarded college basketball voices — in addition to his past work on Major League Baseball games for ESPN.
Shulman had the national radio call of the World Series on ESPN Radio for many years. He is also the lead television play-by-play announcer of Toronto Blue Jays games for SportsNet.
Bilas needs no introduction. The former Duke Blue Devils center under Mike Krzyzewski has been a part of ESPN’s college basketball coverage, both in-studio and courtside, since 1995.
Alabama lost to No. 21 Ole Miss, 74-64, Tuesday at Coleman Coliseum. Aden Holloway led the Crimson Tide with 15 points on an ugly night in which Alabama committed 21 turnovers and had only four offensive rebounds. The Tide’s 64 points were a season-low.
Kentucky is coming off an 81-69 win over No. 11 Texas A&M, getting 22 points from Jaxson Robinson, who made five 3-pointers.
Alabama is ranked No. 4 in this week’s AP Top 25 Poll (No. 5 in the Coaches Poll). Kentucky is ranked No. 8 in the AP poll.
