Alabama has seen a multitude of players hit the transfer portal in recent years. Some have panned out while others haven’t. During the offseason, more players on the roster transferred than in years past.

Several of the more notable players to transfer were Drew Sanders, Jahleel Billingsley, and Javon Baker. Those three played a good amount of snaps at their respective positions. On the other hand, countless other former Alabama players have faired well. Some of those have been Eyabi Anoma, Taulia Tagovailoa, and Brandon Turnage.

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban annually brings in some of the highest-rated recruiting classes. However, over the years, the Tide has seen several of those high-profile commits transfer elsewhere after spending time with the program.

A few that come to mind are Jalen Hurts, Alvin Kamara and Brandon Kennedy. All three of them saw success at their respective transfer destinations. It wasn’t what Alabama had envisioned on national signing day, but things don’t always go as planned.

Since the transfer portal became more accessible, numerous Alabama players have elected to transfer.

How Alabama football transfers are performing with their new programs

Former Alabama players are shining at their new programs!

In this day and age, working the transfer portal is just as important as recruiting for a college program. Alabama has taken advantage, finding two of their best players in Jameson Williams (Ohio State) and Henry To’oto’o (Tennessee) from the portal.

But just as it giveth, the transfer portal can also taketh. Nine players who were on the Crimson Tide’s roster last season ended up transferring out of the program. All landed at Power Five schools as well.

Texas was the most popular destination, with running back Keilan Robinson and outside linebacker Ben Davis following Steve Sarkisian to Austin. The two Los Angeles schools in UCLA and USC are represented, as are rivals Tennessee.

A name fans may recognize the most is kicker Joseph Bulovas. Now at Vanderbilt, he has stepped up as Clark Lea’s placekicker this season.
