Lions draft 2023: 20 prospects to know for Day 2

The Lions have three 2nd-round picks, for now. Here are some prospects to know who could be those picks

The first night of the 2023 NFL draft saw the Detroit Lions select two players. Alabama running back Jahmyr Gibbs and Iowa linebacker Jack Campbell joined the Lions at pick No. 12 and 18 overall, respectively.

The trade made by Lions GM Brad Holmes to move back from No. 6 to ultimately land Gibbs shook up the team’s outlook for Day 2. Detroit now has three second-round picks: 34, 48 and 55. The Lions no longer have a third-round pick, with No. 81 heading back to Arizona in that trade.

Detroit figures to be out of the running back and linebacker markets now. There are still needs at several spots, including defensive tackle, cornerback and offensive guard.

Here are 20 prospects still on the board who fit the Lions and the draft range for the second day of the draft. The frontloaded picks mean these players are generally expected to be second-round selections, though GM Brad Holmes proved that projections don’t hold much water with him.
