Former UCLA Bruins men’s basketball star Adem Bona put on a show earlier this week. Bona was invited to a private workout with an NBA team and broke the record for the max vertical jump.
Bona went 48.5 inches, which topped Keon Johnson back in 2021. Johnson was 6’5, and did his standing jump of 41.5. He beat Kenny Gregory, who had the record from 2011, at 45.5
Others in the record book for NBA Draft Combine history:
- Kenny Gregory, 2011, 45.5
- Hamidou Diallo, 2017 44.5
- Jericho Sims, 2021, 44.5
- Pat Connaughton, 2015, 44
Bona, who stands at 6’10, scored 12.4 points per game and ripped down 5.9 rebounds per game for the Bruins. He played in 33 games. He is expected to be a second-round pick, but with the latest news, he has a few more teams that have him on their radar.
Back in 2022, 247Sports had some discussion on his hops. It was clear he had great athleticism, in his time on campus playing for Mick Cronin. Now, many are wondering if he can take that to the next level.
A source said Adem Bona posted a max vertical jump of 48.5 inches in a private workout with an NBA team Wednesday, exceeding Keon Johnson’s record 48-inch jump at the NBA combine in 2021.
