College basketball coaches are now allowed to contact recruits from the 2026 class, and Mark Pope and his staff have been working on doing just that. The most recent target is Mississippi forward Adam Tyson, according to Kentucky Sports Radio’s Jacob Polacheck.
Tyson is a 6’6″, 180 lb small forward and is currently ranked as the 110th overall player in the 2026 class by 247sports. They have him as the number 36 small forward and the number two player in the state of Mississippi.

Kentucky assistant Cody Fueger is the coach who contacted Tyson, and the Wildcats are one of the first programs to target him. Ole Miss and Jackson State have also been in contact with him.
Decisions for members of the 2026 class are a long way off, but establishing early relationships with players is important. The recruitment of Adam Tyson is only just starting, but Big Blue Nation will be keeping an eye on it.
