Is there a punter competition at Oregon?
Just a day after the Ducks received a commitment from junior college transfer punter Ross James, Oregon secured another commitment from a punter looking for a fresh start elesewhere.
Former Temple Owl Adam Barry said via his Twitter account that he has committed to join the Ducks for the 2022 season.
Once billed as one of the worse punters in the American Athletic Conference, Barry turned himself as one of the best punters in that league in just two seasons. Entering the 2021 season, Barry was on the Ray Guy Watchlist, an award that goes to the best punter in the country.
The River Bluff, Ken. native stands at 6-foot-6 and he had a great junior season at Temple. Barry averaged 42 yards per kick and placed 13 punts inside the 20-yard line.
