The other writer to make the prediction is Adam Rowe. That is significant because he covers the Duke Blue Devils, who are also in the running for Lewis’ services.

Here is what he had to say about Kentucky to 247sports in his interview with them.

They’ve been cool and been recruiting me hard. Jasper (Johnson) was at this camp (John Wootten Top 150 camp) so he did a little recruiting. Their message is similar, they say I can come in and have the opportunity to play. People are leaving next season so it’s a good opportunity.

Lewis plans to make a decision on November, and still plans to visit both Kentucky and Duke. He has already visited Connecticut.

Duke basketball makes the top four for four-star 2025 combo guard

Four-star 2025 guard Acaden Lewis revealed his top four on Saturday, and the Blue Devils need to beat UNC and two others for his commitment.

Duke basketball and the North Carolina Tar Heels won’t play each other on the court for a few months yet, but Jon Scheyer and Hubert Davis remain locked in competition on the recruiting trail.

Acaden Lewis, a four-star combo guard and a top-40 player in the Class of 2025, revealed his top four schools on Saturday. The Blue Devils and the Tar Heels made his final list alongside two-time defending national champion Connecticut and the Kentucky Wildcats.

Lewis, a 6-foot-2 and 170-pound guard, plays for the Sidwell Friends School in Washington, DC. According to MaxPreps, he averaged 14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game as a junior in 2023-24. He’s currently No. 32 on the 247Sports Rankings.

Lewis took an unofficial visit with the Blue Devils in early August, sharing some photos of himself in a Duke uniform on his social media page.

While the Huskies remain a threat for any elite talent thanks to their sales pitch of consecutive national championships, Lewis’s proximity to North Carolina means it shouldn’t surprise fans if this comes down to the Tar Heels and the Blue Devils.

There’s no potential timetable for a decision, however, so Lewis could end up at any of the four schools.

UNC basketball falling out of race for combo guard?

Hubert Davis and the UNC basketball program have ground to make up for four-star guard Acaden Lewis.

North Carolina’s recruiting board for the 2025 class is starting to take shape as they will host several recruits for visits this fall. With a busy next few months upon us, Hubert Davis and his staff are seeking their first commitment in the class.

One prospect that North Carolina is in pursuit of is four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis.

The Washington, DC product is a top 35 player in the 2025 class and has cut his list of programs down to eight, getting set to make visits this fall. While Lewis has yet to announce those visits, it’s possible the Tar Heels get one.

And it sounds like they need to get one to make up some ground in this recruitment.

Per Rob Cassidy of Rivals, the Tar Heels have some ground to make up and are not trending in the right direction for Lewis. Here is what he wrote in his contenders article for Lewis:

PROBABLY NOT: Auburn, Michigan, North Carolina

Stranger things have happened, but the Wolverines, Tar Heels and Tigers have some work to do if any of the three hopes to land Lewis’ commitment on decision day. The good news is there’s plenty of time to do so. The bad news is, it doesn’t seem likely at this point.

It’s just one analysts’ opinion but that’s not great news for the Tar Heels in this recruitment. Lewis would certainly fill a need for the Tar Heels on the perimeter with RJ Davis leaving after this year and potentially Elliot Cadeau as well.

Getting him on campus would be a good first start and then impressing him and staging a comeback in this recruitment would be the next step.

Hubert Davis watches a top UNC basketball recruiting target at Peach Jam

Hubert Davis had his eyes on a top combo guard at the Nike Peach Jam.

The open evaluation period is here as AAU tournaments are underway again including the popular Nike EYBL Peach Jam. The event takes place each Summer, usually spanning over a week.

But now the event is two weeks long, giving coaches an extended look at some recruits.

For North Carolina, Hubert Davis and staff members were in North Augusta, South Carolina for the event to watch some recruits. And they had their eyes on a top target on their 2025 recruiting board.

The Tar Heels were among the programs watching the Noon showdown between Team Durant and Mac Irvin Fire. Four-star combo guard Acaden Lewis played in the game and drew the attention of Hubert Davis per a report:

The Washington D.C. Product recently cut his list of offers down to a top 8 which included North Carolina. He also previously set two visits to the Tar Heels’ program for later this year, potentially giving UNC the edge in this recruitment.

Davis and his staff have yet to land a recruit in the 2025 class and it’s clear that Lewis is high on their list. Being able to land the combo guard would be a huge first step in building that 2025 class.

Lewis is ranked No. 31 nationally, No. 4 combo guard and the No. 1 player in D.C. per the 247Sports recruiting rankings.

The 6-foot-3 Lewis is one of the hottest names in the nation and began to capture the attention of national analysts and scouts alike for his play on the AAU circuit and at other showcase events.

On Wednesday, Lewis narrowed his choices down to eight, and that includes the Wildcats.

Per recruiting services, lately Lewis has unofficially visited Kentucky, UConn and North Carolina. He has an official visit planned to Louisville in late August, and an official visit scheduled to UNC in early October.

Fans will be keeping an eye on this one, without a doubt.

Duke basketball makes the top eight for 2025 guard Acaden Lewis

Lewis, a four-star combo guard from the Class of 2025, will decide between Duke and seven other schools for his commitment.

Duke basketball remains in the mix for 2025 guard Acaden Lewis.

The four-star combo guard released his top eight schools on Wednesday morning, and the Blue Devils kept themselves in the race for his commitment.

Head coach Jon Scheyer will need to beat out some stiff competition for the Washington, D.C., native, however. Lewis also included North Carolina, Connecticut, Kentucky, Syracuse, Michigan, Tennessee, and Auburn among his finalists.

According to the Wednesday report from 247Sports’ Dushawn London, Lewis plans to visit each of these eight schools before making a decision in November around the early signing period.

London’s report also made Lewis’s top priority very clear.

“I want to play,” Lewis said. “I’m not there to sit behind a bunch of people they have at the guard spot…NIL is cool but my main focus is playing and being somewhere where I think I’ll be comfortable, where I belong.”

Lewis said his relationship with the head coach will also be a point of emphasis in his recruiting as well.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 247Sports ranks Lewis as the 31st-ranked prospect in the class. He stands 6-foot-2 and weighs in at 170 pounds.
