Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class will continue to grow in the coming months, but for coach Mike Elko and his staff this offseason, keeping all ten of the cycle’s commits, including four-star wide receiver Aaron Gregory, is key to keeping the momentum flowing.
Last Saturday, Gregory, alongside several 2025 Texas A&M signees, participated in the annual Navy All-American bowl game as one of the younger prospects on the roster, noting his elite ability and future stardom at the next level.
As one of Texas A&M’s earlier 2026 commits, chatter regarding Texas and other programs looking to flip his commitment was unsurprising, but during a recent interview with GigEm247’s Andrew Hattersley, Gregory detailed what keeps his connection to the Aggies strong, including working with wide receiver coach Holmon Wiggins:
“Coach Wiggins is something, man. Real fun coach. Want me to be the greatest. Want me to do my best. He going to push me to do my best. I feel like he is definitely one of the best receiver coaches, if not the best in college right now,” Gregory stated. “He sees a mixture of a lot of DeVonta’s attributes and like Isaiah Bond when he was coaching him. There’s just a lot of different things that he tells me about.”
Wiggins, who has received substantial criticism from the Aggie fan base after missing out on several high-ranking recruits and transfer players since his arrival, is enjoying a redemption tour, especially if he keeps Gregory committed to the program.
“As of right now, I don’t know. I don’t have no feeling towards it,” Gregory stated. “I feel like me and A&M are locked in for good, but things happen.”
This is a good sign, but nothing is definitive until he signs next December.
