Eagles’ WR A.J. Brown addresses recent trade rumors, scrub of his Instagram account

Philadelphia Eagles All-Pro wide receiver A.J. Brown says he’s trying to grow as a person NFL amid trade rumors

A.J. Brown just completed his second season with the Eagles, and all the former Ole Miss star has done is rack up two All-Pro selections and set a franchise record for receptions by a receiver and the most receiving yards in two years (2,952).

That still hasn’t stopped some in the media from suggesting Brown could be traded this offseason, even going as far as to predict hypothetical deals.

During an appearance on Up & Adams, host Kay Adams asked Brown about the recent rumors and speculation, and the wide receiver addressed the situation with zen and leverage.

Brown (knee) finished the 2023 regular season with 106 catches on 158 targets for 1,456 yards and seven touchdowns.

He played in all 17 regular-season games but missed the 32-9 wild-card round loss to the Buccaneers due to a knee injury.

This season, Brown surpassed his previous career high of 88 catches and had a streak of six consecutive games with at least 127 yards.

Treylon Burks on comparisons to A.J. Brown: We have our differences

Tennessee Titans first-round pick and talented wide receiver Treylon Burks talked about the comparison between himself and Eagles star, A.J. Brown

Treylon Burks was expected to be a key figure for any team as a first-round pick, but the expectations drastically changed after the Titans chose him over A.J. Brown.

Rather than pay Brown upwards of $20 million per season, Tennessee traded the talented receiver to Philadelphia for the Nos. 18 and 101 overall picks.

The Titans then used the No. 18 pick on Burks, an All-American wide receiver out of Arkansas. With Tennessee heading to Philadelphia for a Week 13 matchup, Burks talked to ESPN’s Turron Davenport about the constant comparisons between the two players.

After a slow start to his rookie season, Burks has shown improvement and has 24 catches for 334 yards thus far.

Brown has been outstanding for Philadelphia from day one and has logged 53 catches for 831 yards and seven touchdowns.

“I wanted my work to be appreciated. That’s pretty much it,” Brown said when he was introduced as an Eagle. “I’m one of the top guys in the league. I’m confident in how I play and what I bring to the table.”

Now a member of the 3-0 Eagles, the talented wide receiver is having fun, expecting a new child, and $100 million richer.

Watch: Former Titans WR A.J. Brown arrives in Philadelphia after being traded to the Eagles

Just days after being a part of the draft’s biggest blockbuster trade, former Titans wide receiver A.J. Brown landed in Philadelphia to meet the press and his new team.

Brown and Eagles quarterback are best friends off of the field and while making his way through the airport, the talented wide receiver encountered John Clark of NBC Sports Philadelphia.

Brown told Clark that he was already aware of the trade and destination, stating that he was “excited. I get to play with my best friend and just great to be a part of this great organization.”

The former second-round pick told Clark that he believes Philadelphia can have a really special offense in 2022 and that he talks to Hurts every day, regardless of football.

A.J. Brown trade, extension sets table for Seahawks WR D.K. Metcalf

That’s big news for the Seattle Seahawks, who are set to give their own stud receiver an extension at some point this year.

One of the biggest surprises during the first round of the 2022 NFL draft last night was a blockbuster trade. The Tennessee Titans sent their star wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles, who promptly agreed to a four-year, $100 million deal with their new WR1.

That’s big news for the Seattle Seahawks, who are set to give their own stud receiver an extension at some point this year. In the wake of Russell Wilson getting traded to the Denver Broncos, D.K. Metcalf is now the undisputed best player and athlete on the team. Better yet, at just 24 years old, Metcalf’s best football days are still ahead of him.

While we believe Metcalf ultimately has more upside than Brown, this new contract with Philadelphia will likely be the template used for Metcalf’s representatives during their negotiations with Seattle’s front office whenever they begin. (Coach Pete Carroll says the team has not directly addressed DK’s deal as of yet.) Not only are Brown and Metcalf from the same 2019 draft class, they have the same agent.

Whatever the final number ends up being – we’re betting somewhere between $25 million and $27.5 million per season – Metcalf should be worth every penny.

Jalen Hurts and A.J. Brown thought they’d be college teammates, but the quarterback chose Alabama, while the wide receiver accompanied DK Metcalf to Ole Miss.

After 3 years in the NFL, Brown, and Hurts are finally teammates after the Eagles traded two picks to the Titans for the wide receiver.

Shortly after Brown agreed to a four-year, $100 million contract extension in Philadelphia, he joined Hurts on a facetime call, where both players showed their excitement.

A physical wide receiver who can make plays at all three levels, Brown’s addition to the Eagles’ offense should open things up for DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, and most importantly, Miles Sanders in the running game.

Jalen Hurts gets a player he’s already familiar with, and that should do wonders for his accuracy and decision-making in tight situations.
