The Toronto Raptors (23-50) welcome the Philadelphia 76ers (39-35) to Scotiabank Arena Sunday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the 76ers at Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: 76ers lead 3-0

The Raptors are 0-3 straight up and against the spread (ATS) versus the 76ers this season. They are coming off a 145-101 home loss to the New York Knicks Wednesday, failing to cover as 14-point underdogs. They have lost 12 straight games and are 3-9 ATS in that span. Toronto is 32-41 ATS on the season.

The 76ers have also struggled as of late, losing 3 straight games. They are coming off a 117-114 road loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers, covering as a 6.5-point underdog. Philadelphia has lost 5 of its last 6 games yet is 4-2 ATS in those matchups. It is 40-33-1 ATS on the season.

76ers at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 115, Raptors 101

Moneyline

PASS.

The Raptors have had little desire to win or even be competitive and will be without many of their key players. They aren’t worth a play on the moneyline. Similarly, the 76ers are far too expensive to play to win outright.

Against the spread

BET 76ERS -11 (-110).

The 76ers have been a double-digit favorite just once without Embiid in the lineup, and they covered in that game, beating the Hornets by 11 and closing as a 10.5-point favorite. The 76ers are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games and have dominated the Raptors this entire season.

The Raptors are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a double-digit underdog. In their last 3 games as a double-digit underdog, they lost by 20 or more. Toronto’s defense has been abysmal, and its offense hasn’t been able to keep pace either.

Considering those trends, back 76ERS -11 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 218.5 (-110).

The Raptors offense, without Barnes, Barrett, Quickley and their 2 top centers, hasn’t been able to do much of anything. They have scored 104 or fewer in 7 of their last 8 games and have gone Under 90 in 2 of their last 5. They will only have 2 players active who are averaging double figures on the season.

The 76ers are 3-5 O/U in their last 8 games, scoring 102 or fewer in 4 of their last 7. Their offense hasn’t been as potent without Embiid, and they don’t play at a fast tempo.

That said, neither team will be looking to run up the score. Take UNDER 218.5 (-110).

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Philadelphia 76ers (0-1) travel to Canada to face the Toronto Raptors (1-1) Saturday. Tip from Scotiabank Arena is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the 76ers vs. Raptors odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

Season series: First meeting of 2023.

The Sixers fell 118-117 on opening night against the Milwaukee Bucks while covering as 6-point road underdogs Thursday. G Tyrese Maxey led the team is scoring with 31 points while 3 others also had at least 20 points. They’ll lean on him and C Joel Embiid while James Harden‘s situation remains pending.

The Raptors lost Friday in a 104-103 overtime loss to the Chicago Bulls while covering as 2.5-point road underdogs. F Scottie Barnes conceded a shooting foul with 0.1 seconds left in regulation to allow the Bulls to force overtime and Bulls G Alex Caruso hit a game-winning 3-pointer with just 2 seconds left in overtime to send Toronto home with its first loss. Barnes was Toronto’s leading scorer with 22 points.

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 119, Raptors 109

Moneyline

PASS.

At -160 odds, there is more money to be made betting on the Sixers spread. After a tough opening night loss to the Bucks, expect the Sixers to make a statement on the road.

Against the spread

BET 76ERS -3.5 (-110).

The Raptors are will be playing in back-to-back games for the first time this season giving the Sixers the advantage of rest. Expect Embiid to return to his MVP-caliber self Saturday against Toronto C Jakob Poeltl who will be no match. While the Raptors are a solid team, Philadelphia showed grit in its opening-night loss coming back from a 9-point deficit with less than 3 minutes left. Expect it to build on that momentum for a road victory.

Over/Under

BET OVER 214.5 (-110).

The 76ers had 4 players score at least 20 points in their previous game while the Raptors had 6 players score in double digits. While the Raptors have not had great scoring performances in their first 2 games this season, expect this game to have a higher pace. Philadelphia thrives by pushing the ball and piling on the points, which is what will allow the Over to hit in the matchup.

76ers at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 104, 76ers 100

Moneyline

BET RAPTORS (-103).

I have seen nothing this season to suggest that the 76ers are a better team than the Raptors.

I expect Philadelphia to look like 1 of the best teams in the East by the All-Star break, but they have underperformed up to this point (1-4 ATS). I can’t recommend betting the 76ers as a favorite on the road vs. a Raptors team that is having a better season than them.

Against the spread

PASS.

There is no need to buy the extra 1.5 points on the Raptors. Take the ML or bet the total as Toronto wins its 3rd consecutive game Friday.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 212.5 (-105).

Philadelphia’s defense wasn’t great Wednesday as it allowed the Raptors to score a season-high 119 points. However, the Under is 5-0 dating back to last season in Philadelphia’s last 5 games following a loss in its previous game.

Philadelphia will bounce back defensively after Wednesday’s loss, and the Raptors allow just 105 points per game (4th in NBA). The Under should hit Friday as both teams tighten up defensively.

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (1-3) and Toronto Raptors (2-2) meet Wednesday at Scotiabank Arena. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the 76ers vs. Raptors odds, and make our expert NBA picks and predictions.

The 76ers won their 1st game of the season Monday 120-106 vs. the Indiana Pacers at Wells Fargo Center. PG James Harden finished with 29 points, 11 assists and 9 rebounds as Philadelphia covered the spread as a 12-point favorite.

The 76ers are tied with the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat for the 7th-best odds to win the NBA Finals at +1500.

The Raptors split a 2-game series at the Heat after a 98-90 win Monday. Toronto won straight up as a 3.5-point underdog, and we picked the side and total correctly in that matchup.

The Raptors have the 7th-best odds to win the Eastern Conference at +1500.

76ers at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 108, 76ers 102

Moneyline

BET RAPTORS (-105).

The market is higher on the 76ers than I am. I believe the Raptors should be favored in this matchup after covering 2 straight games vs. a Miami team that has the same championship odds as Philadelphia. Grab the Raptors as a slight underdog before they potentially become the favorite.

Against the spread

PASS.

There is no need to buy the extra 1.5 points on the Raptors. Toronto has been a slightly better team up to this point in the season and should win straight up at home.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 216.5 (-110).

The Under is 5-1 in Philadelphia’s last 6 games dating back to last season and 3-1 in Raptors games this season. Expect a tight, low-scoring game between  2 teams that have historically played each other at a slow pace. The Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between Philadelphia and Toronto.

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors Game 4 odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors Game 4 odds and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (3-0) visit Scotiabank Arena Saturday with a plan of finishing off the Toronto Raptors (0-3). Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we look at the 76ers vs. Raptors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

The 76ers needed overtime to take Game 3 in Toronto 104-101 Wednesday.

Having been up 5 with 2 minutes left in Game 3, the Raptors stared down a crucial few minutes that did not go their way. The 76ers tied the game at 95 and proceeded to win with a C Joel Embiid buzzer-beating 3 in overtime.

The Raptors are now facing elimination in Game 4 at home. They are 24-18 at home this season. They have failed to cover 5 straight games – they were 47-33 against the spread (ATS) on the season before the slide.

The strength of the Sixers has been the combination of Embiid and PG Tyrese Maxey, who are averaging 27.7 and 26.7 points in the playoffs, respectively.

Philadelphia has covered all 3 games in the series, barely beating the spread in a 3-point win as a 2.5-point favorite in Game 3. It won by 20 and 15 in Game 1 and 2 respectively.

76ers at Raptors picks and predictions

Prediction

Raptors 109, 76ers 106

Money line

SPRINKLE on the RAPTORS (+125).

I truly believe the Raptors are too good of a team to get swept.

The biggest surprise has been the Raptors averaging just 9.7 offensive rebounds per game after finishing the season ranked 2nd in offensive-rebounding rate.

The Sixers, for comparison, finished 19th in defensive-rebounding rate, so one would think Toronto would have a major advantage on the glass. However, the Raptors were outrebounded by 14 at home in Game 3.

That will change, and with a battle this close, it could be difference-maker.

The 76ers also shot better from the field, behind the arc, and from the free-throw line in Game 3. I don’t expect that to be repeated either.

Philly will win the series, but Toronto should come out on top in Game 4.

PLAY: Free, daily sports pick’em contests. Play now!

Against the spread

BET RAPTORS +2.5 (-105).

The public has seen the Sixers’ dominance and this line has been pushed even higher from Game 3. Toronto ranked 9th in defensive rating and 3rd in turnover rate this season.

It shot over 90 times per game in the regular season, yet is shooting just 85.7 attempts per game in the playoffs. It’s the aggression, and that should come in playing a potential season-ending game.

Lastly, Philadelphia is just 12-13-1 ATS as an away favorite, so it’s not necessarily a spot it has succeeded in this season.

Over/Under

PASS.

I don’t like this total at all. It’s too low, and the public will likely be on the Over. Per pregame.com, 61% of the money is on the Over at the time of this writing, yet the line has dropped from 214, which it opened at.

I don’t necessarily trust the Raptors not to heavily limit the Sixers. The pace has also favored the Sixers, who are among the slowest teams in the NBA. That’s been a key reason for the Raptors limited shot attempts.

If anything, I’d lean the UNDER 212.5 (-112).

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Tuesday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors and lines, with NBA expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia 76ers (17-16) travel Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip-off with the Toronto Raptors (14-16) at Scotiabank Arena. Below, we look at the 76ers vs. Raptors odds and lines, and make our expert NBA picks, predictions and bets.

Philly has alternated between winning and losing over the past four games with the most recent being a 117-96 beatdown of the Wizards in Washington as 4-point road underdogs Sunday.

Over the past two weeks, the Sixers are 2-4 straight-up (SU), 2-4 ATS and 3-3 O/U with the 20th-ranked non-garbage time net rating (minus-3.9 points per 100 possessions), according to CleaningTheGlass.com (CTG).

Toronto got destroyed 144-99 as 9-point road underdogs by the Cleveland Cavaliers Sunday, snapping a four-game ATS winning streak.

In the last 14 days, the Raptors are 2-2 SU, 3-1 ATS and 4-0 O/U with the 12th-best non-garbage time net rating (plus-3.7 points per 100 possessions), per CTG. Several Toronto games have been canceled recently due to COVID.

The Raptors upset a Joel Embiid-less Sixers squad 115-109 as 4-point road underdogs Nov. 11, and the Over cashed on a 211.5-point total.

76ers at Raptors odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

76ers 115, Raptors 109

Money line

PASS because the absence of Raptors guard Fred VanVleet is too big of a factor for me in this one.

According to CTG, VanVleet grades in the 100th percentile of point guards in on/off net rating (plus-23.1 points per 100 possessions).

On top of that, Toronto could still be without its two leading rebounders in Barnes and Achiuwa, both of which also have positive on/off net ratings.

Against the spread

“LEAN” to the RAPTORS +6.5 (-110) because the Sixers are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games as a favorite and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven games following a win. Furthermore, Toronto’s style matches up well vs. Philly.

For instance, the Raptors like to get out in transition and crash the glass: Toronto ranks third in second-chance points per game and first in fastbreak points per game. On the other hand, the Sixers give up the fourth-most second-chance points and the second-most fastbreak points per game.

Also, Toronto has done a good job defending Embiid since hiring head coach Nick Nurse in 2018-19. For his career, Embiid averages just 19.6 points per game vs. the Raptors (24.9 PPG career-average) on 40.9% shooting (28.3% from three) with a minus-6 net rating.

However, I can only “LEAN” to the RAPTORS +6.5 (-110) because of the plethora of COVID-related absences and Toronto losing by 45 points its last outing when playing under similar conditions.

Over/Under

BET the OVER 213.5 (-112) because I envision Toronto crashing the glass and pushing the tempo more so in this game since those are weaknesses for Philly.

But, I don’t see how the Raptors stop the Sixers on the other end of the floor. Also, Toronto has gone Over the total in four straight games and the Over is 5-0-2 in Philly’s last seven games as a road favorite.

Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Sunday’s Philadelphia 76ers at Toronto Raptors NBA odds and lines, with basketball picks, tips and predictions.

The Toronto Raptors (15-15) host the Philadelphia 76ers (20-10) Sunday at their temporary home of Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET. Below, we analyze the 76ers-Raptors odds and lines, with NBA picks and predictions.

Philadelphia has been missing key contributors over the last 10 days, which has led to 2-3 overall and 1-4 ATS record over that span. Those three losses were on the road to winning Western Conference teams.

The Raptors won and covered three straight road games coming into this one, including two wins over the Milwaukee Bucks. Nine of Toronto’s previous 10 games were on the road and the Raptors were 7-3 overall and ATS in those contests.

The Sixers beat the Raptors 100-93 earlier this season, but Philly is 4-6 overall in the last 10 meetings.

Against the spread (ATS)

Toronto should give Philly problems in this game because ball security has been the 76ers’ biggest problem this season and the Raptors can exploit that easily. The 76ers are 27th in turnover rate and give up the 2nd-most points off of turnovers per game in the Association.

The Raptors have the highest defensive-turnover percentage and 2nd-most points off of turnovers per game. In the first 76ers-Raptors meeting this season, Toronto outscored Philadelphia in points off of turnovers 25-13.

Despite this obvious edge, I only lean RAPTORS +3.5 (-115) because of the discrepancy of each team’s performance to close games out. The Sixers have the 2nd-highest net rating with a 13-3 record in clutch situations while Toronto is 6-10 in clutch situations with the 20th-best net rating.

TAKE RAPTORS +3.5 (-115) for a quarter-unit if at all.

Over/Under (O/U)

The OVER 223.5 (-110) is my favorite play in 76ers-Raptors. First, a major reason for the difference in both teams’ performance to end games has to do with drawing or committing fouls. The Sixers have the highest free-throw attempt rate in the NBA and the Raptors have the worst defensive FTA/FG rate.

Furthermore, Toronto outscored Philly 24-12 in fast break points in the first meeting, which leads me to another advantage for the Raptors: Transition basketball.

The Raptors run the 2nd-highest frequency of transition offense and 5th-most fast break points per game, going against a Sixers defense that allows the most fast break points per game.

Finally, BetMGM opened this 76ers-Raptors game’s total 5.5 points higher than the last despite it going Under by 26 points and the Under cashing in six of their previous meetings.

GIMME OVER 223.5 (-110) for 1.25 units.
