Prediction
76ers 116, Knicks 108
Moneyline (ML)
The 76ERS (-167) can be played at a number that’s higher than it should be in a lopsided matchup. The Sixers topped the Chicago Bulls 100-89 at home Friday for a second straight win. The Knicks (+140) had Friday off and will be hosting a Sixers team with a poor 7-14 road record, but New York is just 6-14 at home and coming off back-to-back losses to the Milwaukee Bucks (128-102) and Phoenix Suns (121-98). The Knicks last played Thursday.
Philadelphia won the season’s first two head-to-head meetings by scores of 109-104 and 101-95. The Sixers are 4-2 over their last six games after they snapped a four-game losing skid, and they seem to have adapted to life without Embiid.
Line/Against the Spread (ATS)
The SIXERS (-3.5, -115) are laying just a couple of buckets and will need to win by 4 points to cash against the spread. It’s a better value play than the outright win on the moneyline.
The Sixers are 18-21-4 against the spread overall and 6-13-2 on the road, while the Knicks are 20-22 ATS overall and 9-11 at home. Saturday’s small spread negates Philly’s poor ATS record, as they have to do little more than win outright. The Sixers are 3-2-2 ATS on the second half of a back-to-back this season.
Over/Under (O/U)
Take the OVER 215.5 (-128). The Sixers are 5-1-1 against the Over/Under on the second half of back-to-backs and top the projected totals by an average of 6.6 points per game in those situations. New York is 7-5-0 against the O/U when it has the rest advantage.
